What A Wild Fabric Trip It Has Been & It Is Only Getting More Fun!

Happy Monday to all. Today I was supposed to write about the 108″ fabrics from Henry Glass, but that is going to go on the back burner. I have other things to discuss and celebrate with you all, my loyal fabric peeps (familia).

This past weekend, I reached over 10,000 likes on my @jaftexpresident Facebook Page. I must say that I am pretty energized about it. I am well on my way to my goal of 50,000 likes. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has supported me along the way. THANK YOU! What a wild fabric trip it has been and it is only getting better.

Last night I hosted my first ever Facebook Live Jeopardy Challenge. I asked 33 questions and each of the winners will be getting a fabric prize shortly after the Easter holiday. All in all, the challenge went very smoothly and I hope everyone who played enjoyed it. For those who couldn’t make it, I hope you can make it next time. This is just one of the many ways that I try to give back to everyone who has been so supportive and has made this social media experience with the Jaftex companies so interesting, exciting and fun. Having you with me throughout this fabric journey is the greatest compliment that you can pay to me which leads me to my next point.

Since buying FreeSpirit Fabrics about a year ago, I have been receiving lots of gifts, thank you notes, complimentary emails and donations for my sewing machine giveaway. And no, please don’t send me anything because of what I am writing here. In fact, I am asking for quite the opposite. I thank you all for being so gracious and kind to me, but it is so not necessary for you to send me stuff or spend your time and money on me. I truly appreciate the kind thought, but I am great just doing my job and fabric-taining you all!

The donations for my sewing machine giveaway are over the top generous, but quite frankly, after the recent auction that we had, I am so flush with money for sewing machines that I am stressed about having to give so many away. (Side note: we recently raised almost $14,000 through a sample sale auction and that equals a lot of sewing machines). If you must make a donation, please donate to another cause that is near and dear to your heart or do something to spark the #sewrevolution by spreading the love of quilting to the younger generations.

Allow me to get to my main point. The only thing that I would love from you all besides liking, commenting, participating in a positive way with my companies on all our social sites, interacting with my team, sharing our posts and that sort of stuff is that you simply show your support by purchasing our fabrics from our retailer partners. In a nutshell, that is my wish. I am sure you know this already, but my companies are: A.E. Nathan Co., Inc., The Blank Quilting Corp., FreeSpirit Fabrics, Henry Glass Fabrics, Studioe Fabrics, 3 Wishes Fabrics and Fabric Editions. That is the most important way by which you can honor me and my family and that is all I ask of you plain and simply. Thank you in advance. Love you guys!

PEACE FAMILIA!

Hi Scott – what an awesome auction result! You have to be delighted with that. I love this kind and generous quilty community and it is wonderful that you are encouraging us all to spread the word, spread the knowledge, spread fabric, and to spread the quilty goodness! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I have missed a lot of your blog the last few months due to having very limited access to my computer. So love catching up. Recently went to EE Schenks sorry for the misspell. We got a few of the new Free spirit Fabrics they had. LOVE THEM. So great to read your blog again.

      Hi Kim,
Thanks for the message. I don’t think you would have been able to find FreeSpirit from Schenck as they didn’t distribute FreeSpirit. So not sure how that happened. Glad you enjoyed the post.

Hi Scott…I wish you had been as active in the industry about 15 years ago….as President of the Home Sewing Association I can personally attest to the fact that your enthusiasm would have been welcomed. Keep up the great work.

It was great to see your post as somehow I’d fallen off your list and wasn’t getting any of your posts. Hope you and your family have a blessed Easter.

Thank you for supporting the quilt shops to the universe! I love the quilting community and the relationships I have developed at my store and beyond. My customers have become my friends and are people I can share the same passion of quilting. Keep up the good work Scott! I’ll keep buying your fabrics.

As a boutique retailer offering fabrics for the modern quilter, I am honored to be one of the Free Spirit retailers showcasing only Kaffe Fassett Collective and Tula Pink designs. I too ❤️ My Job. I am a Free Spirit!

I love your facebook visits to the quilt shops. Quite a few have shown me a fabric that I just have to order. Now I have to get moving on my projects. God bless all of your Jaftex family they do an amazing job. Be safe in your travels.

Thankyou Scott for all that you do! Sunday night’s live show was so much fun. I didn’t win anything , but I really learned quite a bit. ?

You are such an inspiration! Thank you for saving these wonderful fabric lines! I support all the quilt shops in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas as well as others I’m able to visit. Your passion for the love of quilting shows and I see the younger generation getting grabbed by the quilting bug! My grandmother taught me my love for quilting and I’ve taught my daughter and am teaching her daughter. Keep up the great job!

I’ve so enjoyed your postings, and the care you take of being the executive of Jaftex. I’m one of those you mentioned who is striving still at age (active) of 81 to teach the younger generations the joy of sewing, and yes, to instill in them a love of creating with fabric. Currently I have three homeschooling teens with whom I spend 3 hours each Wednesday, teaching and mentoring them in Christian grace as they deal with growing up in a secular world. They are learning both sewing clothing and quilting. This is my tenth year of doing this, and have beloved students who have graduated and are independent sewers and quilters. It’s such a joy, as I’m sure you understand. I love Kaffe Fassett Collective and Tula Pink, plus many others. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!! Jane

You are a very special person. You’ve shown respect and kindness to so many people. You may own many companies, but you have maintained your generosity and sincerity in what you have and what you do.
Yes you know this old lady through PM that we have done. You’ve been more than generous to me and I want you to know how very much you have meant to me. You are and have been my inspiration to what I do. There are no other words that mean more than Thank You . So I am saying thank you Scott for just being you.

    Good Morning Scott,

I will do my best to support your brands on my 9-11 State and 4 Province road trip this Spring. I am partial to the bold colours and beautiful prints of Kaffe and Tula and was so happy when you saved Free Spirit.

I have enjoyed the energy your have brought to quilting from the wholesale side of things.

    Keep up the good work.

    Michelle
