Caring For Our Planet

Oftentimes when I am at speaking engagements or talking to customers, people are always asking about the mills we use. They want to make sure that the workers at the mills we are using are of age and being treated properly. They also want to know about recycling and how we care for the planet.

A while back, I sent a list of questions to 3 different South Korean suppliers and one in China. Below, I will list the questions and the answers that I received.

Q: How does your mill deal with wastewater and pollution?

  • Wastewater and pollution testing is conducted regularly.
  • Mills use pollutant emission prevention facilities.
  • They also have a hazardous chemical substance manager on site.
  • The waste and pollution are separately managed and disposed of in accordance with the industrial waste regulations and government policy.
  • Mills themselves will dispose of wastewater for the first round of treatment and then they are sent to a government-run disposal mill for further treatment. (China)

Q: Does the mill recycle?

  • Yes, there is recycling of waste vinyl (plastic bags) and paper tubes.
  • It is not possible to use the fabric in the recycling process in the factory. However, after transporting it to a waste disposal site, the company decides whether to recycle it or not according to the regulations of the institution.
  • Yes, the water is recycled. (China)

Q: Does your mill use child labor?

  • The mills do not use child labor.
  • One of the mills sent me a certification letter confirming child labor is not used.
  • Since child labor is strictly prohibited by labor law, there is no child labor at our factory.
  • No child labor. (China)

Q: Do you have any other information about protecting the environment or otherwise? People want to know that we at Jaftex care about the earth.

  • The mills must comply with environmental legislation and manage their environmental performance.
  • We take the lead in environmental protection by strictly separating industrial wastes so that recyclable waste can be burnt or disposed of at the least.
  • The chimneys in the mills have been equipped with air-cleaning machines so the air is much cleaner than in the past. (China)

I hope this answers a lot of those questions regarding how we ensure that the production of our Jaftex fabrics have a limited impact on the environment.

Have a great week.
