The Game Changer: My Very Own Videographer
In the summer of 2020, I moved from New York to Connecticut. At that same time, my social media team and I determined that I needed to bring my @jaftexpresident video game up to the next level. As such, we determined that it was time to put out an ad for me to get my very own local videographer. The plan was for the videographer to come to my house on a regular basis to create more video content than I was creating before when I didn’t have a videographer. A pretty simple concept.
My team got the resumes together and interviewed candidates until they got it down to 2 good ones. I remember very vividly that it was down to Marcus and a young woman. You all know how it ends, but I was super close to hiring the woman as my concern was that Marcus was a mover and shaker and would move on to something bigger and better very soon. In the end, it was determined that he was the best candidate and I had to go with my gut. The rest is history and I sure hope to keep Marcus on my team for the long haul. I am very pleased with how things are going thus far and we are nearing in on our second year working together in October.
At this point, I don’t think I have given a very formal introduction to Marcus on Facebook, my blog or otherwise. The truth is that since he is in charge of the videos, I am waiting for him to tell me when to give him a formal introduction. LOL. In any case, some of you did get the chance to meet him when we were in the middle of a live video and he turned the camera on himself in total shock. Check the picture above and say, “Hi” to Marcus.
In short, working with Marcus combined with converting my attic to a video studio has proven to be a game-changer for our social media video expansion as I had hoped. Marcus and the team have me doing videos, commercials, public service announcements and so much more….and we are having fun while we do it. He truly has been a breath of fresh air and he has helped to keep me focused and on track. Not only that, but having him has provided me with more time to do other more important things as he does a lot of the heavy lifting preparation that, in the past, I would have had to do by myself.
Marcus is like part of my extended family as he has met A5G (Aaron), B5G (Brett), C5G (Charlie) and my wife Laurie too. He comes in and out of my house as he pleases. He’s an all-around great guy and I enjoy working with him. Oh yeah, and he has some great video skills too. I look forward to giving him a more formal introduction in the future and I also look forward to what lies ahead for us on the video front. Perhaps there is an Emmy in our future. All I can say is that you can expect things to get bigger and better as time goes on….just like a fine wine.
Have a great week!
