And The Prize Goes To We’re Sew Creative In Concord, NC!
I must say that Covid really threw a wrench into me awarding prizes to the winners of the Jaftex Shop Tour Video Challenge over the last couple of years.
If you recall, every August, I host a challenge for retailers to create a Facebook Live video tour of their shops. My team then takes those videos and posts them on my @jaftexpresident Facebook page. The idea is to give the retailers as much exposure as possible for their shops by bribing….I mean encouraging them to make videos. In the end, everyone is a winner, but the true winner is the shop that receives the most views of their video. The grand prize winner with the most views actually gets me for a day as a prize, among other things, and that leads us here to this blog post today.
With that, last year’s winner was We’re Sew Creative in Concord, NC. Their time has finally come and it’s ironic that they won because not only do I get to visit them for a day, but I also get to visit my offices in Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC as well as the G&S warehouse in Seneca, SC and Oxford Packing & Cutting in Burlington, NC.
Needless to say, this is going to be an almost 5-day trip and I am psyched. I am even bringing Marcus, my videographer, so we can work on getting some good video footage which should be a good thing for all my fans and followers who love seeing all the behind-the-scenes action.
Now, I would like to share my plan for the Thursday, May 5th visit at We’re Sew Creative.
I should be arriving at We’re Sew Creative around 12:30. Thereafter, I am looking forward to having a lovely lunch with the We’re Sew Creative team and some of their top customers. How cool is that? I always love to meet quilters. Also, rumor has it that we might be having some BBQ. You know I am always down for some good BBQ as they just don’t have good places to get BBQ where I live like they do in the South.
After I engorge myself with BBQ, we will be heading back to the shop. At that time, as I have done with previous winners (think The Old Country Store in Intercourse, PA), I will be hosting a Facebook live at the shop hopefully with one of their knowledgeable staff members and that will be live on my @jaftexpresident Facebook page. Heads up that you should be looking out for this anywhere from 2:30-3:30 on May 5th. Don’t you want to see the winning shop again?
After the video, I will be hanging out at the shop from 3:30-5:00. If you didn’t act fast enough to get tickets for the evening event, come on down and hang with me in the afternoon. We can talk fabric while you peruse the shop and add to your stash. Just sayin’.
The grand finale is a reception and private shopping session with yours truly. I will also be doing a presentation that evening and taking any questions. After that, I will peace everyone out and be on my merry way back to my hotel and head home on Friday.
That’s the plan and I am sticking to it. If you can get involved, I would love to see you and meet you.
Have a great week.
