Let’s See What’s In The Henry Glass March 2023 Release

Henry Glass is on a slightly different schedule than my other companies when it comes to new line releases in the March-May timeframe. Henry Glass has a March and May release whereby the other companies have only one April release. Today, I will be discussing the Henry Glass March release.

The Henry Glass Fabrics & Co, Inc. March 2023 release consists of 14 lines that ship from September to November. Before I dive into the discussion of the lines though, I wanted to point something out to all the Henry Glass shop owner customers.

The Jaftex companies are moving all double and rolling functions overseas. That’s another story for another blog, but the point is that the timing to order a 12-yard full-collection case pack is changing. Shop owners used to be able to order case packs up to one month prior to the line shipping. Now, case pack orders are due 2 1/2 months before the shipping month. For example, for a line that ships in October, we now have a case pack order cut-off of July 15. Heads up if you are a regular case pack buyer!

Without further ado, let’s dive into the release.

Butterflies & Blooms by Gail Pan. Gail is one of our Australian designers. It’s always interesting to me to see that the Australian-designed lines are generally different than our “American” lines. It’s hard to describe, but they are different and appeal to a different audience. These Australian lines, without fail, sell better overseas than in the US which is always interesting to me as well…..case in point.

This is a 17-piece floral collection in shades of blue combined with creams and beiges. It has a fabulous panel for which the group is built around (see below). In addition to the lovely bouquet panel, there is a butterfly block print as well as lots of supporting prints like the butterflies and words, flower stripes, a lazy daisy toss and a sprig toss among others.

Buzzy Bee by Jane Alison. As you can clearly tell by the line name, this is a bee line. Bee lines continue to be hits with more and more people doing bee things like collecting honey and making soap. This 11-piece line is built around the 24-inch panel with bees flying around the hive and flowers. In addition, there is a 6-block print with blocks measuring 10×10 (see below). End users of this block print get an added bonus of 3 quilt labels that can be used on their quilts to commemorate who it is made for and who made it. This line ships in November so make sure to bee on the lookout.

Glitz & Glam by Jane Washington. What a perfect name for this 9-piece collection that ships in November. This line represents what many women dream about and what many men have nightmares about paying for….shoes and pocketbooks. Here’s an idea for you men out there. Perhaps you can get away with making a shoe and pocketbook quilt instead of having to buy one of each for your loved one. Please don’t throw me under the bus by telling her that this was my idea. I don’t know what you are talking about! With that, let’s toast to more shoe and pocketbook……..quilts for all the ladies out there.

Mardi Gras by Allessandra Gavin. Again the line name speaks for itself. This tight 7-piece collection is perfect for those celebrating Mardi Gras. I really admire the color story with the golds, greens, purples and black. Let me just say laissez les bons temps rouler which is Cajun French for “let the good times roll.’ Amen to that……and the beignets are good too!

Nature’s Affair by Jan Mott. Jan Mott is going to hit it out of the park with this floral line filled with daffodils, forget-me-nots and pussy willows. Check out that fabulous panel below. And below that, there is a free project that uses the panel just how it was meant to be used. Don’t forget to check the website often for more free project ideas because they were intended for you to use free-ly.

Serene Garden by Mary Jane Carey. As I am reviewing the lines, I am noticing more and more beautiful floral groups. This one is no different as you can see in the collection collage below. Our long-term licensed designer and friend, Mary Jane Carey, is back again with one of her perfectly coordinated floral groups in shades of aqua, pink and cream. I love how simple and classic this line is.

Sew, Sleep, Repeat by Delphine Cubitt. What a great name for the line! I am sure all my quilting peeps can relate to sewing, sleeping and repeating that cycle over and over again. That’s what you do. And some of you I hear drink wine too, but not sure that would have made for a good title. For me, it’s work, eat, sleep, deal with dog, deal with kids, repeat. And keep the wifey happy! In any case, this is an adorable 12-sku quilting collection in shades of pink, blue, yellow and black. Check out the fabulous block print with the added label bonus on the bottom. I guess those labels are becoming a thing on our panel designs.

Shadow Leaves 108″ by Color Principle. We are changing up the way in which we run 108″ lines for Henry Glass. In the past, we used to run these lines as if they were basics and just kept reordering them over and over. Now, we are trying to clear out those older 108″ lines in exchange for more one and done 108″ collections. That allows us to have more freshness instead of the same old. Even with the lines being one and done i.e. ordered once and not reprinted, our minimums are still high so these skus hang around for a good part of a year. With that, check out all the colors of this new 108″ line in the collage below. What’s your favorite color? I am digging the black and white one.

Priscilla’s Polkas & Stitching Housewives Stripes by Priscilla Blain. A picture is better than 1000 words. Below we have all the colors of Priscilla’s Polkas. In addition, you should know that we are going to have fat quarters for both the polkas and the stripes and the rest of the groups by the Housewives.

Now, check out the Stitching Housewives Stripes. Again, a picture is still better than 1000 words. What’s your favorite color?

The Mountains are Calling 2-ply flannel by One Sister. Flannel lines are few and far between for us these days, but when we have flannel lines, they are bound to be a-mazing especially when they are from our long-term designer Janet Nesbitt! Not only will the fabric be luscious and warm, but Janet’s designs are spot on. This line is perfect for all the great inspiration available on our website and also the projects that are available directly from Janet. Let me show you one free project below so you can see what an awesome quilt you can make.

Timeless Linen Basics & Valentine Wishes by Stacy West. Last, but not least, are the latest and greatest from Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin. This time around, she has both a Valentine’s day line as well as a basic go-with line to match her other collections and just about anything else you need it to match. The Valentine’s line is a tight group of 10 ditsy type prints in shades of pink and red with white. My favorite print is this little cupid print below.

Below is a collage of the colors for Stacy’s new basic. It has a great linen texture that you will almost think it’s linen, but it isn’t. Which is your favorite?
