Let’s See What’s In The Blank Quilting April 2023 Release
The Blank Quilting April 2023 release consists of 16 new groups that ship from November 2023-January 2024. Today, I want to give you a taste of what The Blank Quilting Corp. has to offer in this release. Don’t forget that a release is when our reps begin to sell the lines for the first time to their quilt shop customers. That compares to a rollout which is when said line begins shipping to quilt shops.
Bella Donnas by Filly Rose: This 8-piece collection is a girly girl line in shades of pink, purple and blue with some black too. It depicts a group of women doing their thing and enjoying life to its fullest potential. Their thing includes walking their dogs, relaxing on a couch, driving a moped, riding a two-seater bike, drinking champagne and just dancing around while partying. To me, it’s a celebration of friends and friendships. Quilters will enjoy making memory quilts of times with friends or can even use this line to make a gift celebrating that special friend and friendship.
Camp USA by Bentpath Studios: Personally, I was never a big camping guy although I did enjoy it the handful of times I did get to do it. This line is getting me to think that I should give it another shot. It just looks so fun to be out in nature living it up without all of the luxuries and distractions of modern life. This 12-piece collection perfectly captures the essence of camping. If this is something that you like to do, this line has it all so you can commemorate the many great times you have enjoyed being one with nature and your companions. And if that isn’t enough, we threw in a little bit of red, white and blue Americana to make the line even more appealing. Let the camping trip fun begin!
Chantal by Satin Moon Designs: Chantal is a 9-piece collection. Blank does a fair amount of lines like this where there are a lot of geometrics mixed in with stuff like florals to make a nice color-coordinated group. It’s more of a mix-and-match line as compared to a coordinated single-themed focused group. The possibilities are endless. All you need to do is start cutting the fabric up and you can certainly create a masterpiece. There is a nice 24″ colorful panel to tie it all together if you are looking for a little something to get you going in the right direction. See the panel below.
Dressed Up On The Farm by Myroslava Voloschuk: I am glad to welcome new designer Myroslava Voloschuk. What’s interesting about Myroslava is that she is from Ukraine. I would just like to share a quick comment from her which is written in her bio and is appropriate to represent a sign of the times.
Myroslava has learned to take nothing for granted and maintains a positive attitude despite the horrors of war which persist in Ukraine. Proud to be Ukrainian, she would like everyone to know that Ukraine is a very beautiful country with wonderful nature and kind people. During this heartbreaking and scary time, Myroslava says, “This is my opportunity to give others positive emotions and joy,” so she paints beautiful things to bring smiles and warm people’s hearts.
Dressed Up On The Farm is a 10-piece farm collection in shades of red, white and blue. The designer does a great job of creating some adorable animals dressed in all kinds of garb. This packed animal print below says it all. Giddy up!
Flourish by Silas M. Studio: This is a new 11-SKU floral line with birds and butterflies. It is a lovely line in light shades of aqua, pink and blue. What I absolutely love about this line is the neat layout of the panel which is below. This is the first time I have seen a panel in this layout with different-sized blocks.
I find the layout of the panel to be very interesting and different. I know I have mentioned that we are revamping the projects we offer with our lines. I love what the project designer did with this panel. Check out this mock-up of the quilt below. You can get this from the Fabric Addict and it is called Too Pretty To Cut. I couldn’t agree more!
Game On! by Hannah of Pencil & Ink Studios: Whenever we have sports lines, they are always solid sellers. Shops are always looking to have a variety of sports fabrics available in their shops. People love to make quilts about their sport or that of a loved one to celebrate a win or just the sport or athlete in general. We try not to mix the sports as most people usually want a specific sport fabric and not a mish-mosh of all sports. With that being said, our project inspiration does use the various sports prints together which is perfect for that all-around athlete who loves all sports. With that, in this line we cover baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer…..and a sports word print that is below too.
Gypsy Flutter by Elsie Ess: Gypsy Flutter is an elegant 13-piece dragonfly and flower collection in shades of blue, purple and green. What makes it elegant to me are the various moons that look like they are made of gold. They are printed gold in color and are not gold metallic in case you were wondering. In other words, there will be no extra charge for this fabric. This print below captures what I mean when I say this line is elegant. Isn’t it nice what the gold color does to the look of the fabric?
The 24″ panel is another print that demonstrates the elegance of this line. It’s lovely to see the dragonflies flying through the night sky amongst so many beautiful varieties of flowers. I also like the smaller blocks above and below the center panel that can be cut up and used in lots of creative ways throughout your fabric projects.
Hipster by Rodrigo Pontes: This one is for all you Studio E fans that say we never have enough lines that are more male-orientated. New designer Rodrigo Pontes brings us a barbershop kind of line with all the usual barbershop suspects. Scissors, mustaches, razors, barber chairs and many more barbershop motifs complete this line in shades of red, white, blue and black. Speaking of which, I definitely need a haircut.
Let’s Eat Cake by Silas M Studio: Post-Covid, I have seen more and more celebratory-styled lines, especially birthday lines. It’s ironic because I don’t remember as many lines like this prior to Covid. This 10-piece collection in cheery primary shades has everything you would need for your next party. Candles, cakes, balloons, party hats, cupcakes, confetti, cakes and even dog-shaped balloons. You don’t have to ask me more than once, I am ready to party! Happy birthday to you!
Lettuce Make Peas by Angel Nicole: New designer Angel Nicole brings us her rendition of a garden line. This garden is more geared toward young children with adorable animals gardening.
It contains a variety of prints ranging from garden vegetables to gardening tools and bugs. However, what I love the most about this line is this piece of project inspiration below. This is some beauty! This is called Peas-Full Garden Bargello Bed Runner and it’s by Quilter’s Clinic. I look forward to seeing this baby in person.
Ocean Oasis by Patricia Pinto: The new 14-piece coastal line is sure to transport you to a beach far away where everything contains a shade of blue, green or sand. This line has various allover prints containing the usual suspects in coastal lines. Fish swim in schools. Sea turtles crawl through the sand. Shells, sand dollars and starfish relax in the sand and shallow water. Pelicans watch from above seeking out their next meal. Sailboats sail through the choppy seas. Let’s sail away together!
On The Right Track by Larry Grossman: Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga choo choo! Larry Grossman hit the nail on the head with this 11-SKU train line. This line contains lots of different train prints in different types and styles. There are stacked suitcases. There are clocks and tickets. There are train wheels. There are train signs too. I think we have this theme covered quite thoroughly. What I love the best about this line is the project that uses the 24″ panel in the center. Look how great it looks below! You can find it from Quilting Renditions and this one is called Triptych Quilt.
Scarlet Story by Color Pop Studio: It’s interesting that I am starting to see a comeback of red lines. I guess what goes around comes around. Some have red and white. Others have red, white, black and grey or a combination thereof like this line. There is a mish-mosh of prints here in this color story, but I see an underlying theme related to card games. You can see all the suits like hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. In fact, one of the projects plays off this theme too. Check out the table runner below called Suits Me by The Fabric Addict. How fitting!
Spectral 118″ Digital by Satin Moon Designs: You probably guessed that since we are bringing back a new 118″ line that our introduction of them has been a success. Our customers have spoken and 118″ quilt backs are getting a resounding, “Yes!” The latest called Spectral comes in 8 colors. I am going to let the designs and colors speak for themselves below.
Spring Is Hare by Studio EvaV: New design studio EvaV brings us a 9-piece spring collection. This line is filled with an abundance of adorable easter bunnies and little chicks. It also has purple butterflies, well-decorated Easter eggs and a fun spring plaid. My favorite thing about the line is the 24″ panel. I love the little spring vignettes in each of the smaller squares. In addition, I like that consumers that buy this print get the added bonus of some spring labels that can be used on fabric projects to identify who made them, who they were made for and when they were made.
Time Travel by Urban Essence Designs: We had a steampunk kind of line called Alternative Age and it was a huge hit. The steampunk line before that was a huge hit too. Hence, the return to a new steampunk kind of line. This time, the line is called Time Travel. It’s a 14-SKU collection and is a great follow-up to the steampunk lines before it.
The allover prints are a variety of dragonflies, gears, hats, keys, pipes, timepieces, airships, blueprints, bees, skulls, stamps and luggage. The line has an industrial revolution feel with rich colors of brown, bronze, copper, gold, teal and gray. My favorite design in the line is the panel which serves as a summary of what the line is about. I think it’s so cool how the different images in the panel are separated by connected poles or pipes like those used on construction sites.
I hope that was enough eye candy for you for one day. If you are a shop owner, please reach out to your sales rep or contact customer service to buy this collection. Or, you can always order online or contact me at scott@jaftex.com.
If you are a consumer, make sure to reach out to your favorite fabric reseller to ask them to buy your favorite lines for you. Don’t forget that these lines don’t start to ship until November of 2023 so you are going to have to be patient. I am sorry for being such a tease, but that’s what we do in this business.
Well, that was fun. I hope you enjoyed my concise, not so concise, synopsis and analysis of The Blank Quilting Corp.’s April 2023 release.

Nice presentation

The bargello quilt is the second double helix quilt I’ve seen today. Both of them intriguing.

I was so happy to see a line with trains! I have been searching high and low to find non branded trains to use in a Harry Potter themed train quilt. Love the steam punk, too. Is it possible to do a Spring time non Easter bunny? So we can use it all year? Thanks for all you do!
