Introducing The Jaftex Brand Ambassador Class of 2024!

The Program

The Jaftex Brand Ambassador program was launched in January 2020. We have a wonderful group of passionate fabric fans who love creating projects and enjoy being active on social media. These are quilters and sewers who enjoy sharing their love of this craft on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and/or a personal blog.

Create, Engage, Share

We send the brand ambassadors packages full of fabrics based on their style. We also send tonals and backings. Once the brand ambassadors receive the fabrics, they have one month to complete one major quilt project or at least three small projects. What they choose to create is up to them.

In addition to the unique projects that our brand ambassadors create, they share their work on their social media pages. Maybe you have seen some of their work already. Content includes unboxing videos, progress shots and final project photographs. They are also actively engaged on our social media platforms where they like, comment and share our posts. We would love for you to follow them on their pages to see the latest creations they have made with our fabrics.

Aimee Wilson – @SewingScientist

“I’m Aimee Wilson, an environmental scientist by day and a dedicated quilter by night. My journey into textiles began at 20 when I crafted a king-sized quilt from old clothes. Over the years, I created handmade clothes for my child, who, at 25, still requests my creations. From 2009 to 2014, I made quilts for charity often using thrift fabric, a fulfilling experience that fueled my passion for sustainable living.

Between 2015 and 2021, I collaborated with indie designers, contributing to apparel pattern testing. The pandemic spurred a shift to remote work and a more casual wardrobe. After sewing countless facemasks, my focus transitioned to quilt pattern testing, marking a new chapter in my creative journey. Every fabric scrap serves a purpose—either in a scrappy quilt or as stuffing for cozy cat beds.

In my dual roles as a scientist and a quilter, I strive for a harmonious blend of creativity and environmental mindfulness. Each stitch tells a story of dedication to both art and sustainability, reflecting my commitment to making a positive impact on the world—one quilt and one environmental study at a time.”

Amy Simmonds – @StichedByStarlight

“I’ve been a sewist for over a decade and I’ve tried a little of it all.  I’m an adept bag maker, a passionate quilt maker, a happy decor maker and a hesitant Halloween costume maker.  Over the years I have found that what brings me the most joy is creating for others.   Whether I’m pattern testing, or creating items to help market a new fabric line; I love knowing that my effort not only results in something beautiful but that I’m also helping to lift and support fellow designers.”

Autumn Shatto – @GeometryAndJoy

“My name is Autumn, and I am an Engineer by profession, but a quilter by passion. Beyond my career and hobbies, I am a wife and mother of three – a daughter and twin boys who bring me boundless joy. I find solace and creativity in my quilting projects, and I am always on the lookout for new ventures in the realm of quilted art and sewing. My heart belongs to my husband, but my sewing machine is a close second. One of the things that has drawn me to sewing and quilting has been the deep connection to the quilting community, where inspiration and camaraderie flourish. I love bouncing ideas and concepts to my peers and genuinely cherish the friendships that I have made along the way.”

Brittany DeVries – @TheQuiltedCactus

“Brittany enjoys quilting, bag-making and learning to sew dresses for her daughter. She teaches classes at a local quilt shop and has started writing quilt patterns. When she’s not sewing, she likes cooking, camping and bringing home new farm animals.”

Cara Cansler – @Sew_Colorado_Quilting

“Hello, I’m Cara Cansler! Specializing in longarm quilting, my work is showcased in publications like Quiltfolk and books such as the Barn Star Sampler. As for my quilting style, each fabric collection deserves its unique touch, making every quilt a one-of-a-kind creation!”

Elaina Sabado – @On5thAve

“I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and our fluffy cat and hairy dog. My camera roll is full of our pets and quilt projects or ideas. Lately, I’ve been having fun looking up new and classic quilt block patterns from books and magazines and trying to figure out how to manage sewing all those y-seams and curves. When I’m not sewing or if can manage to combine both I also love watching 80’s movies, listening to true crime, reading British mystery fiction and going down the rabbit hole with Pinterest and Instagram. This year I would like to try and experiment more with using more of a limited and curated color palette of fabrics instead of everything but the kitchen sink when I sew some of my projects.”

Janie McCombs – @Janie.McCombs

“My name is Janie McCombs. I am a brand ambassador for the Jaftex Corporation under the Henry Glass Fabrics line. I love creating with beautiful fabrics. I welcome you to find out more about me through Instagram @janie.mccombs and facebook janie.mccombs.96.”

Karen Montgomery – @KarenQuilts

“Karen has a long history in the quilting industry. As a retired shop owner, she now works as a Jaftex Brand Ambassador, authors The Quilt Company line of books and patterns and is the creator of several Creative Grids tools. Karen also hosts Sewposium, a shop owner event that includes the Brown Bag Mystery program. You can find her almost every Sunday evening on Facebook live where she answers questions and talks about quilting in the Nine Patch A Day Group. The rest of the week you can find Karen and her husband enjoying life on Amelia Island, Florida.”

Katie Wyatt – @KWyatt841

“My name is Katie Wyatt.  For years I’ve harbored a passion for beautiful fabric and quilting.  Currently, my main focus is making children’s quilts.  As a Brand Ambassador, I use patterns that can easily be made by any level of quilter.  This is to encourage others to say I can make that!   I’m delighted to represent Jaftex Corporation and the many lines of gorgeous fabric they offer.  “

Lisa England – @Quilts_by_Lisa

“After nearly 30 years of making quilts, I still get excited to use new fabrics and patterns and to see what I can create. I have dabbled in several aspects of the quilting industry including pattern design,
teaching, pattern testing, quilting for hire, etc. but what I still enjoy the most is making quilts for family and friends. Many of the people I know are now the owners of a crazy number of quilts! When I am not
quilting, I can often be found kayaking and taking photos of wildlife. See some of my quilts at

Rebecca Senn – @BeckySueSews

“Hi!  I’m Becky Senn and I’m from the great state of Oklahoma!  I’m a wife to my high school sweetheart and a mother to 2 sweet girls.  I also take care of our 2 dogs and 40 chickens.  I started quilting in 2018 when I was looking for a new hobby and now I can’t stop sewing.  In 2020 I became a Jaftex Brand Ambassador and I have had so much fun working with many of their amazing collections.  While quilts are still my main passion, I’ve recently ventured into bag-making and hope to make more bags in the future.  Who knows….maybe someday I’ll be brave enough to try and make clothes 😉 My goal in sewing is to share my quilts with friends and family and to encourage everyone to give quilting a try!  It is such a fun, creative outlet and I’m so happy to be part of the quilting community !”

I hope you enjoyed meeting all of The Jaftex Brand Ambassadors for The Blank Quilting CorporationHenry Glass Fabrics and Studio E Fabrics. Please engage with them when you see their future posts on our company’s social media platforms.

Thanks!

Jennifer McGuffee
