It’s Time To Be Thankful
As we close in on Thanksgiving and the end of another crazy year (thank you Covid), I wanted to take some time to share a few of the things for which I am thankful. While I am at it, I am going to talk briefly about some things that I don’t appreciate and am not thankful for whatsoever. Here goes:
THANKFUL
Family: I am most thankful for my 5Gs (5 generation sons) Aaron and Brett, and of course my amazing wife, Laurie. They are real troopers for having to deal with me and all the work drama that surrounds us and our lives especially. I am also thankful for my siblings and parents for their unfettered love, support and help in both business and life. In our family, business and life are very intertwined as I am sure you could imagine. For that same reason, I am especially thankful for my dad and brother who work with me tirelessly to keep Jaftex kicking and ticking. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t show my thankfulness to my great grandfather Jacob and grandfather Everett for starting and nurturing Jaftex for the rest of the brood.
Fabric: Yes! Of course, I am thankful for fabric as that has been the main source of my livelihood and has helped to support my family members for nearly a century.
Fans: I am thankful for all the amazing and supportive fabric fans out there. Yes, you! These are the people that read my blogs regularly, follow all my companies on social media, partake in our contests, buy our fabric religiously and are just great supporters of everything we do and everything we stand for. You guys rock!
Customers: I am very thankful for our fabric reseller customers as we couldn’t do it without them. We value them and appreciate the partnership that we have built with them over the years. We look forward to working with them long into the future and look forward to watching their growth. I am also thankful for what I like to call, my customer’s customers. Those are basically the consumers who help to keep my fabric reseller customers in business.
Co-workers: I am thankful for the nearly 200 people that now work for Jaftex. Like our customers, we couldn’t have made it here without each and every one of you. I thank my lucky stars to have all of you on my team. That’s the truth!
Friends: I am thankful for having such great friends. In particular, I am especially happy about the new friends that I made in Connecticut. They have helped to make the transition here go smoothly.
To Be Alive: I am happy to be alive and healthy in my 49th year of life.
NOT-THANKFUL
What I am not thankful for!
Hackers: Come on guys, can’t you find something better to do with your time?
Haters on Social Media: If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Furthermore, if you don’t like what is going on on our various company social sites, you really don’t have to stay. It is a free country and if we are torturing you, you are free to unfriend us.
Covid: No thank you! Please leave.
Supply Chain Issues: Please subside in 2022 as we can’t take much more.
Rising Costs & Prices: Please slow your roll inflation. Hopefully, as our Fed Chairman says, “Inflation will be transitory.”
With that folks, I now want to pose the same question to you, “What are you thankful and not thankful for in 2021?”
