Let Me Tell You About The Henry Glass October 2024 Release

I am excited to tell you all about the newest Henry Glass October 2024 release. This is typically the largest release of the year as it coincides with the Quilt Market, but also it is when we release seasonal lines (Christmas, Harvest, Halloween & Winter Themed) for 2025. One thing to note, we shifted the deliveries for our seasonal lines by pushing them out a month. Now, Harvest and Halloween ship in May, Christmas ships in June and Winter Themed collections ship in July or later. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

We start off strong with A Kitty For Christmas by Hannah West of Lucky Day Designs. This 15-SKU retro Christmas collection is a purr-fect one for all you ailurophiles….that’s a fancy word for a cat lover. This line contains the traditional Christmas colors of red, white and green, but is spiced up with some pops of pink. Among the adorable cat prints, Hannah includes several ditsy coordinates to work with the collection. The ditsy prints will allow for a lot of project possibilities. Speaking of projects, make sure to check out the Merry Mornings Quilt (see image below) with presents and Christmas trees aplenty. For the cat lovers out there, you will love the Sweet Dreams quilt.

Next, there is After Life Party by Gail Green. It is a glow-in-the-dark Halloween collection. The glow-in-the-dark collections are so popular these days. I love how this collection jumps out at you with the strong shades of purple. I also love the cloudy sky filled with stars. Of course, the line contains the usual Halloween suspects including pumpkins, black cats, skeletons, bats, ghosts and sew much more. Make sure to check out the projects for this collection, but don’t forget that you are going to need plenty of Halloween-colored blenders to work with too. So make to stock up!

Kim Diehl has two new lines in this release. First, she has a new collection called Baubles and Balsam (see the collage below of the entire group). This 18-sku collection is a Kim-type line with lots of fabulous ditsy prints in varying shades of green and red. It is perfect for the holidays, but also not screaming holiday either which I know that many people like. Make sure to check out the precuts too for this collection and the Block of the Month called Home for the Holly Days by It’s Sew Emma. The second line by Kim is a new basic called Buttercream & Brickle Bits. This 18-sku collection is a fabulous new assortment of cream-colored prints that are sure to work with any of Kim’s collections. This too comes in precuts. These cream-colored prints are usually Kim’s most popular designs in her Simple Whatnots Club collections. I am sure that will still hold true for these basics too.

Next, Bob Giordano is back with a realistic Christmas line called Believe. Like his lines in the past, he has such great imagery of all the usual Christmas suspects like Santa, reindeer, sleds, snowglobes, cardinals and poinsettias. Make sure to check out the free project called Holiday Moments Quilt as it uses the panel so well. Such a realistic collection needs to be printed digitally to capture all the amazing details.

Here’s a quick one. A new 108″ collection that would work well with all your Christmas quilts. The design is a simple Holly Berry bouquet on a cream, black and red ground (see image below). This one is called Berry Chic 108″ and it is by Pattern Wheel Studio.

For all you ailurophiles, we have a non-seasonal cat collection for you too. This one, we call Catsup and it is by City At Studio. This line is digitally printed and the cats look so realistic. It has varying shades of black and white as well as some green and pink too. This line only has 10-skus, but it has some great panels that are perfect for projects. Below is one of them.

Here’s another quickie for you. Crochet 118″ digital by City Art Studio (see image below). This 4-color 118″ wide back is sure to be a hit with its crocheted scallops in complementary colors. You can pick from the blue, cream, green or black/grey versions. When your quilt is done, the back will look like one of those crocheted blankets my grandma made for me like 40 years ago.

Crow-mazing digital by Jan Mott of Crane Designs is next. This is my favorite collection in the release. For me, it’s about the colors. I love the rich dark shades of brown. It’s reminiscent of a Tim Holtz line or one of the steampunk lines designed for the Blank Quilting Corp. This is what I am always drawn to. I also like the detailed crows mixed with varying fall designs and colors. How awesome is this panel below?

Next up, we have another Halloween glow-in-the-dark collection….Ghosts In The Graveyard by Shelley Comiskey. This line also contains the usual Halloween motifs and characters. It is colored in mainly black, white and orange. Although most of Shelley’s Halloween lines have not been scary, this one is definitely on the scarier side. We often debate on whether Halloween should be scary or not. What’s your preference?

The next line is a Harvest collection mixed with wild animals called Hello Pumpkin by Dawn Rosengren. Dawn depicts her animals so well. I particularly like the chubby fox. Dawn does a nice job of balancing and combining the various aspects of Harvest with the wildlife. Lastly, I like Dawn’s color selection, using muted shades of cream and brown. You will surely fall in love with projects made with this collection.

Home is Where the Dog is II by Leanne Anderson and Kaytlyn Kuebler of The Whole Country Caboodle is up next. The first version sold so well that we are bringing you a new and improved version. This mother-daughter duo captures so many different breeds of dogs in this line. Hopefully, your dog is in the mix….I see my Charlie sitting there so nicely. This line contains the usual dog motifs including leashes, balls, dog houses, bones, etc. It also has an alphabet dog panel with all the different breeds listed. There is also a 36″ book panel and as I have been saying lately, “We can’t keep these in stock.” Lastly, there is a 36″ engineered panel that instructs you on how to make a doggy bandana collar cover. This for sure is a winner for all you cynophiles aka dogophiles aka dog lovers! That’s me!

Now, we have It’s The Holidays! by Goldi L. Studio. This is a tight group of 5 seasonal designs that work great together. See them below in the collage.

Patriotic Pop with pearlescent is next by Color Principle. This is another tight group that is nice and easy to work with. Check out the 6-skus in the collage below and imagine all the great patriotic quilts that you can make for all the patriotic causes out there like Quilts of Valor or for our troops overseas among many other great causes. I love the flag print. Super cool!

Philomena by Michelle Yeo is the next collection for review. Michelle continues to unearth more vintage quilts to inspire her collections. This line has 20-skus and ships in June. The prints in this line are very elegant in very rich shades of blue, green and red to name a few. Michelle offers many lovely quilt projects to inspire you. Check out this one below called Philomena’s Star Quilt (Prussian Blue).

Santa’s Coming To Town by Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin is up next. Like last year, Stacy created an awesome retro Santa Christmas collection and she did it again this year. I think collection you will find plenty of retro prints, but also Stacy includes lots of disties as per usual as those retro prints are going to need some support. Check out the awesome project below that uses the Santa panel in the center.

Scandinavian Holiday by Mary Jane Carey of Holly Hill Designs is the next collection. This 17-sku collection ships in June. This line is definitely a new holiday twist for Henry Glass. These adorable Scandinavian prints are great and they are going to be so amazing to work with. The possibilities are endless. Aside from that, there is a Tree Skirt print which is always a hit (see below).

In addition to the tree skirt, there are 3 other project offerings. One is a placemat set.

Then there is the quilt using the Scandinavian Christmas Tree panel.

Lastly, there is the Scandinavian Holiday 12 Days of Christmas Quilt.

Thanks for making it this far into the blog, you won’t regret it. Last, but not least, we have Thistle and Rye by Janet Rae Nesbitt of One S1ster Designs. Janet continues to inspire her fans with her primitive-colored collections and fabulous inspiration. This collection is 24-skus and ships in July. There will also be precuts offered with this group. I will let the line speak for itself by providing the collage below so you can see the lovely selection.

Allow me to share the two projects with you. The first one is Thistle & Rye, Farmer’s Harvest Quilt.

The second is Thistle & Rye, Pumpkins for Sale Quilt.

Wow! That is a lot of amazing stuff in one release. I believe our customers and sales reps are going to be excited about all that we have here to offer. I would love to hear your comments about the new lines. Which is your favorite?
Have a great day!

Yes, that IS a lot of amazing stuff for one release! I don’t think I could possibly pick just one favorite, The crow panel is very cool — I think the background is so interesting. I also love the Scandanavian Christmas tree panel, the Thistle and Rye collection, Patriotic Pop, and Home is Where the Dog Is. Christmas themed wide back fabrics is a great idea too!
