My Favorite December 2023 Shipping Collections
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as we continue onward into the holiday season and the end of the year! As the weather gets colder and colder, you might want to hurry up on your next project so you have plenty of quilts to keep everyone in the family warm. Let’s dive into my favorite December shipping collections!
Gypsy Flutter is my favorite shipping collection from The Blank Quilting Corp. The colors are so rich and royal feeling. I love the artistic take on the leaves. They are as if they have been stamped onto the fabric using real leaves. The whimsical foliage and flowers are enchanting to take in. There are two quilt patterns available for purchase through Bound to Be Quilting. Pictured below is the Glowing Stars quilt.
The various textures and royal colors are what drew me to this group. There are so many different plants within the prints that it can take a moment to figure out which plants are all being shown. How many of the plants can you name? This collection would make for beautiful decor in a sunroom. Be sure to take a look at the panel as you can create pillows and more from it.
Murano is my favorite shipping collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics. This collection takes me on a journey to a Venetian palace on an island. The bold colors bring life to any project you use this collection in. There are many hidden treasures within this collection and I love to see what I can find. Can you find the blue chameleons? What about the tiny hummingbirds?
Create an amazing maximalist room using this group to create home decor. I would love to see what you create with this collection and see how it transforms your space. In the meantime, I will use a magnifying glass to see what else I can find in these exquisite patterns. All I can say is, “Wow!”
Turtle March is the perfect collection to get your mind off of the cold this winter. I love this Henry Glass collection that highlights these beautiful sea turtles that contribute so much to the ecosystem. Did you know that sea turtles were around when dinosaurs roamed the earth? I can almost smell the sea air and feel sand in my toes as I look at this group. There are two free projects available for this collection, Turtle March Quilt #1 and #2. I love quilt #1 as it features the panel scene which shows baby sea turtles going out to sea.
The colors are so calming in this collection that I almost feel like I’m out at sea being rocked to sleep in a boat. This group has me inspired to create an appliqued turtle on the sand and shell design. The blocks are perfect for creating pillows, placemats and more.
Splendid Path is my favorite shipping collection for Studio E fabrics. This collection features a fascinating dots and holes pattern which can be used to create so many different quilt patterns easily. It’s like a cheater quilt, but not for an entire quilt. The dots and holes take out the hard work of cutting out all sorts of different pieces. They are like the Lego blocks of the quilting world. Check out the dots & holes guide for ideas to get you started. Some ideas from the guide are shown below on the left. Also available for free is the Splendid Path Quilt #1 pattern which is shown below on the right.
The colors in this group are cheerful and would be perfect for a spring quilt. If you miss your garden this winter, this is a great way to bring some flowers into your home. Plus these flowers won’t die. The monochromatic patterns in this collection are intricate and give off the look of embroidery.
I’m glad you stopped by on this cold winter day to see what collections are keeping me warm at this time of year. Which are your favorites?
Happy Quilting, Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
PEACE!
