My Favorite July Shipping Collections

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Today, I am here to tell you about my favorite July shipping collections from my companies. Let’s dive right into it.

For The Blank Quilting Corp., I picked Desert Bloom by Allison Staffin. This is Allison’s first line for Blank. For starters, I want to show you one of the free projects that are being offered for this line. To me, this explains exactly why this is my favorite line. I adore the panel in the center with the fabulous shades of color in the sky.

If you can’t tell why I love this line based on the above project, allow me to tell you some more. The truth is that this is really a cactus line more than anything. However, the cactus is just a sideshow. The real winners in this line are these prints…..the 36″ panel above in the project and this sunset print below.

How remarkable is this print just above? As I look at it, I got a little laugh because it happens that the birds fall right on the sun so it makes it look like a sad emoji, but it isn’t. It’s just some birds flying into the lovely sunset in shades of pink, red, yellow and orange.

For FreeSpirit Fabrics, I am going to let you guess what my favorite is. If you know me, you know that I am always picking my main man Tim Holtz first. He’s always my favorite! For July shipping, Tim’s line is Colorblock. This line is different in that it is really comprised of 4 products, but they are all the same design. The thing is that one of them is offered on canvas and the other three are offered on quilting cotton fabric, but the squares come in different scales. Let me show you the design below and you can see what I am talking about.

Isn’t that so cool? I can see consumers using this alone or even with a variety of other fabrics. It kind of reminds me of a sweater I used to have as a kid. I am getting nostalgic. Anyway, that’s my FreeSpirit selection for July. However, since I always pick Tim Holtz as my favorite, hands down, I am going to pick a runner-up for FreeSpirit.

The runner-up would be Love Always by Anna Maria. Anna’s lines are so colorful and elaborate. The quilt projects made with her lines are really ornate like a piece of art. My favorite design in the group is a toss-up.

I really like this design above. It’s called Fortune in Moonlight color, but it also comes in Pickle and Toffee colorways too. I love the movement of the pink and peach in the center of those gold circles. I also love how she uses lighter blue floral designs on the very dark ground for some contrast.

My other favorite design would be the lace above. Not only is the design fabulous with all the details, but the pink is so vibrant that it almost glows. This design is in the colorway called Sweet. It’s pretty sweet to me. A good thing about this is that it also comes in another color which is called Mango. I like me some mangoes too!

My favorite July line from Henry Glass is Dream Big Little One by Shelly Comiskey of Simply Shelly Designs. Shelly is an illustrator and she has such a fabulous hand. Her designs are very recognizable in a good way. In this collection, Shelly depicts the Noah’s Ark story through her adorable furry animal friends and their little ones. Check out the block print and feast your eyes on this baby.

If that design didn’t catch your attention, what about this one? This is a 24-inch panel.

Last, but not least, I need to pick my Studio E July winner. This time around, I would have to go with the Spirit Of The Wolf collection by new designer Katy Lipscomb. This is her first collection for Studio E. I am going to start off by showing you one of the images for free project download quilt #1.

How awesome is the art in this panel print with the wolves howling at the moon? Look at the movement. Look at the colors. Look at the details. As you could imagine, this line had to be digitally printed due to all the colors and all the fine details. Also, check out these great blocks in the print below.

The above block design with 10.5″ blocks shows, even more, why this line needs to be digitally printed. Look at all those colors in the blocks and on top of each other. This is what digital printing is all about. If that wasn’t enough, here is another print to drive the point home. Check out the color. Check out the movement. Wow!

Those are my July favorites. What do you think of my selections?
