My Favorite July Shipping Collections

The Fourth of July is only a few days away. I hope you have had time to finish your patriotic projects so you can display them this holiday. Let us get into my favorite shipping collections for July.

For the Blank Quilting Corp., my favorite collection is the Land of the Giants. My boys would have loved this group to decorate their rooms when they were younger. The panel is a great element for a wall hanging or the center of a quilt design. Your kid will be roaring like the dinosaurs in this panel when you gift them a quilt made with it.

How many of the dinosaurs can you name in this group? I am not afraid to admit that I would not be able to name all of them. However, I do see pterodactyls, T-Rexes, brachiosauruses and velociraptors. I always remember the scene in the movie, Jurassic Park, where we see the velociraptor’s claws. I know I would not want to run into one of those in the wild.

It was hard to choose just one from all the stunning groups shipping out of FreeSpirit this month, but my favorite is Mosaic. I love the rich gemstone color palette. The artist Billy Reue captured designs that feel almost reflective and shiny even though they are printed on cotton. These geometric patterns are a great choice for accent pieces in your home. Create some stunning curtains with the Conifer print or some decorative pillows using Grisaille.

Garnets & Gingham by Kim Diehl is my favorite shipping collection for Henry Glass & Co. this month. This group is timeless and perfect for any time of year. I could decorate my entire home with this group and never have to change it whatever the season. It easily coordinates well with Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Valentine’s Day and Christmas decor. The In for a Penny quilt shown below is the perfect place to start when creating with this group. I love the unique shapes featured in this quilt pattern.

Gingham is featured throughout this collection in classic and unexpected ways. It peeks out from inside paisleys and flowers. Of course, there is also a classic red gingham to easily coordinate with all the patterns.

Pink Power is my favorite group shipping from Studio E. This group brings light to the strength and resilience of breast cancer survivors. I’m hoping this collection opens up conversations with loved ones and brings awareness to breast cancer. Show love for the ones battling breast cancer in your life by making a quilt for them using this group. The From the Heart quilt is shown below.

The word prints in this group are reminders to keep fighting and to continue to be courageous. I like the pattern which features flowers that have petals falling off that turn into tiny pink ribbons. The pink ribbon is a symbol of breast cancer awareness which is why it is featured so prominently in this group.

I hope you all are looking forward to the projects you will create using these collections. Which collection is your favorite? That Mosaic fabric by Billy Reue is one of my favorites, too! I completely agree that it almost looks shiny.

We made several models featuring it and they’ll be available for stores to borrow for trunk shows after July 17.

FYI: We’ll have Billy as our guest on Live With Annie on July 17 and will talk about his inspiration and process and showcase many of the models we made using all of his fabrics for FreeSpirit. It will be a bit of a “walk down memory lane”!

Join us at 2 pm MT on Facebook, YouTube, or at ByAnnie.com — or catch it “after the fact” at any of those places, too.
