Please Help To Spread The Word About The Jaftex Facebook Live Shop Tour Video Challenge

Dear Every Quilter In The Universe,

Attention! Attencion! Achtung! This is Scott Fortunoff speaking, one of the biggest cheerleaders of the quilting, sewing and textile industry on the planet. I need a favor this month from all my quilting friends. Yes! You! Can you help?

For the entire month of August, I have a challenge going for my customers. It is called the Jaftex Facebook Live Shop Tour Video Challenge and you can read more about it here. In a nutshell, I challenge my fabric reseller direct customers in the US & Canada to create a Facebook live shop tour video of their business. The video will be shared on their business page and my @jaftexpresident Facebook page. At the end of the month of August, the top 5 tours with the most views will win prizes aka bribes.

Here’s the thing! For the last 3 years since the contest started, I have been stuck in the mud with less than 200 participants. The issue is that I have so many more customers than that and it is a complete shame that we are barely scratching the surface. What the what? That is where you guys come in!

I know that you all love to visit fabric businesses. You have loved the challenge over the last bunch of years. You love the newness of visiting a business you have never been to before. You are kind of like a kid in a candy store. You love to see different fabrics and quilts. You just love to see the sea of fabrics and everything quilting. That is the stuff that makes you happy. Right on!

I want to give you the opportunity to see oodles and oodles of new (to the contest) fabric businesses from the comfort of your own home. YES! How convenient is that? If you are lazy (like me), this is right up your alley. Even if you aren’t lazy (unlike me), it should be right up your alley too. We are transporting the fabric to you….virtually.

So, here’s the big ask. I need you to help me get more business owners to participate as many are too nervous to get in front of the camera or just don’t want to do it for a myriad of other reasons aka excuses. You need to understand that the business owners sell fabric, but aren’t famous actors so they need a little push to get involved and in front of the camera. With that, here are some things that you can do to help us and the entire fabric industry win:

• Beg and plead with the owners of all the fabric businesses that you know to join in the contest.
• Share this blog post with them.
• Share the July 12th blog post with them.
• Tag the shop on all the posts where I am talking about the contest on my @jaftexpresident Facebook page and the other Jaftex social media pages.
• When you go visit a fabric business, make sure that the owner knows all about the contest.
• Contact the shop owner directly. You can call them, email them, private message them, message them on their social media sites….etc., etc., etc.!

I think you get the gist of the help that I need. If each of us could get one new shop to participate, that would go a very long way to making this contest as awesome and widespread as it should be.
