Quilt Market 2023, Come Join Us
October is here and you know what that means…..another quilt market in Houston, Texas! Since there was no May Quilt Market this year, it’s been a year since we have seen our quilt market friends whom we miss dearly. I am talking about our domestic and overseas customers, our licensed designers and even our friends that work for the competition. I just hope that everyone shows up.
I hope everyone shows up because Jaftex is going big once again this Quilt Market. We will have nearly a dozen booths decorated to the nines with all the latest and greatest. Lots of the lines that we will be showing are our newest harvest, Halloween and Christmas lines among loads of other non-seasonal collections. Our team will be patiently waiting for you to show up at our booths to be dazzled and entertained. We can’t wait to see you. By the way, if you would like to make an appointment, feel free to email me at scott@jaftex.com or contact your sales rep directly as several of them will be in attendance.
In addition to our regular booths, we will have a hang-out booth for our customers to hang out with our licensed designers who will not have booths at this market. Speaking of our licensed designers, lots of them will be there this year too, but unfortunately, this is the first year that several have decided to pass for the first time ever for one reason or another. I hope this is just a blip, but the reality is that everything is getting more expensive and we are all getting older.
In any case, let me tell you about some of our licensed designers that will be in the house. Of course, from FreeSpirit, we have Team Kaffe Fassett (Kaffe, Brandon & Liza). We will of course have the lovely Tula Pink & the super-talented AnnaMarie Horner. FreeSpirit will also have Billy Reue, Denise Burkitt, Rachel Hauer, Stacy Peterson and the ladies from Sew Kind of Wonderful, Helen & Jenny. It’s awesome that so many will be in attendance and we can’t thank all of our licensed designers enough for coming to represent on behalf of the Jaftex Companies.
For Henry Glass, we will have the amazingly talented Mary Jane Carey from Holly Hill Designs. In addition, Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin and her daughter Hannah West will be in attendance too. They will have a large booth as well with what I am sure will be loads of inspiration because that is what they do….and they do it well. Debbie Busby of Wooden Spools will be there as well as Gail Pan.
For Studio E, we will have Judy Gauthier who will have a neat new line called Field of Seams. In addition, Pepper Cory of the Peppered Cotton shot cottons will be in attendance too. Maureen Fiorellini will also be in attendance and I look forward to meeting her for the first time.
For The Blank Quilting Corp., we will have Fran Morgan of the Fabric Cafe. She will have a new line that will work well with her famous three-yard quilt projects. The new designer Julie of Patchabilities will be there to do a schoolhouse for us. She will have a line for us in the future that I am sure everyone will find interesting when the time comes. Stay tuned.
I truly look forward to seeing all these people and hope I have some time to chat with each of them. In addition to seeing them, I always look forward to the schoolhouses. Jaftex will be the sponsor of many schoolhouses. We don’t yet have all the details for the schoolhouses, but I would say most of the people I mentioned above will be doing a schoolhouse to talk about what’s going on in their quilting minds these days.
That’s a quick synopsis of what you can expect from Jaftex at Quilt Market. There will be more, but you just have to be there to witness it all. I sure hope the attendance surprises on the upside. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Safe travels!
