#SANTASCOTTSENTME2019

December is such an awesome month! It is a festive time of year and my birthday is in December too. I have been so encouraged by the excellent turnout for the 2nd Annual #ScottSentMe challenge that I am stepping it up to add a Holiday Edition. YESSSS!

The December challenge is called #SantaScottSentMe2019. This is NOT about how many shops you can visit in one month. Rather, this is all about spreading holiday cheer and awarding 10 people prizes for visiting quilt shops and taking appealing and festive #SantaScottSentMe2019 photos. Note that the more photos you take in different quilt shops in your festive gear, the more chances you have of winning.

INSTRUCTIONS & RULES:

No purchase is necessary, but think of all the Christmas shopping you can get done! Wink wink.

The gist of the contest: When you visit each shop, please make sure to tell them that “Santa Scott Fortunoff from the Jaftex Corporation sent me.” [Think The Blank Quilting Corp., FreeSpirit Fabrics, Henry Glass Fabrics, Studioe Fabrics, A.E. Nathan Co., Inc. & 3 Wishes]. If they don’t know what you are talking about, please explain or tell them to check out this blog post for more details.

Duration: The contest will start on Sunday, December 1st, 2019 and end Tuesday, December 31st, 2019.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, I will announce the 10 winners on a Facebook live video. The exact timing will be announced so stay tuned. Please note that you do not have to be watching the video to win. I will also post a list of the winners on my @jaftexpresident Facebook and my scott_fortunoff page on Instagram.

Proof of visit: This is how the #SantaScottSentMe2019 challenge will play out. You need to be in the picture at a quilt shop with holiday paraphernalia. Think Santa hats, Christmas trees, decorations, lights, festive jewelry, snowmen, holiday fabric, anything holiday, as long as I can see clearly that it is part of the Holiday Edition and not #scottsentme2019 regular. And of course, don’t forget your #SantaScottSentMe2019 sign. The most important proof is something that shows me that you visited a quilt shop during the Holiday Edition period: December 1 to December 31st, 2019.

Where this contest will be played: Instagram & Facebook.

Post your #SantaScottSentMe2019 hashtagged photos on my Instagram page @scott_fortunoff, on my business Facebook page @JaftexPresident or you can also post on the Group.

To prove that a certain shop was visited, here are ideas of things to include in the photos:

  • For starters, you must be in one, if not all, of the proof photos for each shop visited.
  • A picture in front of the shop’s signage, the shop’s Christmas tree, holiday fabric, Christmas stockings or Christmas quilts, etc. A Christmas hat would be great too.
  • A picture with the owner if that is not disruptive to the business and if he/she is willing to pose.
  • A picture of you in the shop, as long as there is something that makes it clear what shop you were in i.e. a sign, a banner or a flyer to name a few.
  • A picture of the shop’s business card.
  • A photo of a shopping bag from the store.
  • A credit card statement with a purchase from the store.
  • Anything else you could think of that would be clear evidence that you were in all the shops you said you were somewhere between December 1 and December 31st, 2019.
  • When visiting the shops, please make sure not to disrupt the shop’s business flow in any way as far as this contest is concerned. If you do interrupt them, please DON’T TELL THEM THAT SCOTT SENT YOU!

Who can participate? The truth is that this contest is for everyone since we are all consumers. The only exclusion would be fabric sales reps and any Jaftex employees.

Territory: This contest is open to consumers visiting shops in the US and Canada only.

Warning: Don’t get run over by a reindeer! Please drive safely and don’t do anything crazy or stupid to win. The prizes aren’t that great and your life and safety are of the utmost importance. No snowballs fights, please. Be kind.

Sponsors: I wanted to remind you of the names of all my companies under the Jaftex umbrella so that you know who is sponsoring this contest. I hope you will consider supporting all the brands of the companies that are supporting all these fun industry fabric challenges and contributing all the prizes. We wouldn’t complain if you bought any of these fabrics on your Holiday mission.
FreeSpirit Fabrics.
Studioe Fabrics.
Henry Glass Fabrics.
The Blank Quilting Corp.
A.E. Nathan Co., Inc.
3 Wishes/Fabric Editions.
• Jaftex Corporation.
Above is the list of sponsors, but there are other brands that we distribute in case you were wondering. Air-lite Batting, Hotfix Adhesive, Stof of Denmark, Stof of France aka Le Quilt, Oasis Fabrics and Sykel Fabrics.

$100 store credit for 10 Random Winners!

WINNERS & PRIZES
As mentioned above, there will be 10 selected winners. Each of the 10 winners will get a $100 credit to their favorite Jaftex shop. Shops win too because the winners will have to spend their $100 credit at a shop.

Speaking of shops winning, I am also encouraging shop owners to take their own festive photos in their shop with their staff. After they do that, they should post it on their page, tag me all around and invite their customers to come into their shop to take a photo for this challenge and a chance to with the $100 credit. That will increase the shop’s chance of being the beneficiary of the consumer’s prize. In addition, I will be picking 5 of the top quilt shop photos and those shop owners will get a $100 credit to be used for purchases with any of my companies.

HURRY! Get in on this #SantaScottSentMe2019 before the end of the year. (When I turn into a real Grinch).

Happy Holidays!

Santa Scott

Hi Scott, here in Australia we are being devastated by bush fires, especially in NSW where i reside, I am part of the QuiltNSW guild , we are a volunteer community and I am part of the guild committee, we have had a number of members that have lost everything in these bush fires and I was wondering would there be a possibility of some donations we are putting together care packages for these members, whilst so many things around them are uncertain, that the quilting community is always here, appreciate any help you many be able to give, thanks in advance

      Hi Kaye,
I am so sorry to hear that. These requests need to go on my @jaftexpresident facebook page where I am asking people for charities and people to donate to. Hang in there and good luck. Be safe.

Not sure why the email reminders for new blog posts are not reaching me but never fear, I will set my alarm on my phone to remind me to tune in every week. I hate missing your posts! Happy Thanksgiving!
