Scott’s Xmas Fabric Picks 2021
As Christmas is quickly approaching, I wanted to take a moment to tell you what some of my favorite Christmas and seasonal lines are for this year from my companies. Let’s do this:
The Blank Quilting Corp:
All That Glitters is Snow by Diane Kater is my selection for The Blank Quilting Corp. You probably don’t know this about me, but I really love the snow. As a kid, I always loved running around in the snow, sledding, shoveling the driveway, having snowball fights and playing snow tackle football. More recently when my family moved to Connecticut, we also took up skiing which has been great for my entire family.
Beyond my love of snow, the snowman, snowwoman and snowchild are just adorable as you can see in the running yardage block print below. This line also has lots of other great prints like the Christmas stocking print, a holiday gift tag design and more of your usual Xmas fabric suspects like holly and ribbons to name a few.
FreeSpirit Fabrics:
Fa La La by Maude Asbury is my selection for FreeSpirit Fabrics. Last year, when we acquired the assets of Blend Fabrics, one of the benefits was that we picked up a lot of great new designers to add to our arsenal at FreeSpirit Fabrics. One of those designers was Maude Asbury. He has built up a great following and we are continuing to build on that now that he is part of FreeSpirit Fabrics.
What I love about this line is the retro feel. What I also like is that it captures the essence of the holiday and the holiday season. It contains so many of the awesome things that go with this time of year like Santa, ice skating, Christmas tree decorating and of course reindeer. It’s just adorable and quaint.
Henry Glass Fabrics:
Holiday Lane by Jan Shade Beach is my selection for Henry Glass Fabrics. For starters, Jan Shade Beach is one of my favs and she has been for years with her black, grey and white holiday lines that put her on the map and now this red, grey and white line. This line screams seasonal and the contrast between the red and white is so striking with the pops of grey. There are so many great prints in this line like the swirling snow in a bunch of colors, the winter trees, plaids, Christmas ornaments and sweet little deer.
Studio E Fabrics:
For Studio E Fabrics, I have selected Snow Place Like Home 2 ply flannel by Sharla Fults. For starters, Sharla has really been gaining traction with the Studio E customers. Her lines continue to sell better and better as her lines resonate with our customers and her brand recognition grows.
Snow Place Like Home has a little bit of a story behind it. Last year, we came out with this same collection printed on regular cotton. It was such a huge hit that several customers were begging us to run it on flannel too. Not only that, but they asked us to expand the line also. As we like to listen to our customers, we did just what they asked and in there lies Snow Place Like Home 2 ply cotton flannel. We continue to carry this line in both flannel and cotton as it has remained very popular with lots of mass appeal.
That about wraps it up for my 2021 favorite Jaftex quilt shop-only holiday collections. What was your favorite holiday collection from my companies this year? Tell me in the comments please and feel free to share projects that you made as well.
Outside of that, I just wanted to wish you all a great end of the year. Enjoy all the holidays and let’s look forward to an amazing 2022 with less Covid stress. Happy Holidays from me, my family and the entire Jaftex team.
