ScottSentMe2023 Participating Shop Sign Up

Hello #ScottSentMe2023 Retailers & Consumers,

We are a few weeks away from starting the #ScottSentMe2023 Challenge. This is where I challenge consumers to see how many fabric businesses (not big box retailers) they can visit from September 1, 2023, to November 30, 2023.

I wanted to take the time to make sure that all retailers know that they can opt-in to the challenge. Retailers do this by going here and filling out the form. In addition to opting in, retailers can also offer enticing promotions to get consumers to come and visit their shop aka the bait.

If you are a consumer planning to go out and visit shops for the challenge, you should be sure to check out this list before you start your #ScottSentMe2023 journey. The list will provide you with all the shops that have opted-in to the challenge specifically. But, please note that if a shop isn’t on this list, it DOESN’T mean that they aren’t part of the contest. To be clear, you can choose any shop in the US or Canada to visit….they don’t have to be a Jaftex customer nor do they have to be on the participating shop list for you to get credit for the visit. That really should be called the opt-in list as the participating shop list makes it sounds like those are the only ones involved, but that isn’t the case. In other words, every single visit you make to a fabric business (not a big box retailer) will count towards the number of shop visits you make in total. The concept is simple….visit as many shops as humanly possible in 3 months.

When looking at the participating shop list, you will notice that it is in order by state so it is easy to review if you are looking to visit one or two states at a time. A good bunch of shop details are on the list too i.e. address and phone number. I suggest calling ahead before going to a shop just to make sure they aren’t closed or their hours aren’t limited or changed. There is nothing more frustrating than making the effort to visit a shop only to find out it is closed. That is surely one way to mess up a good plan and I want participants to avoid that at all costs.

In the last column of the chart, on the far right, you will see it says, “Our promotion for #ScottSentMe.” Note that the blog isn’t really set for a chart so make sure to use your arrow key on your keyboard to reveal the entire listing of enticing promos. There are lots of truly great offers to be excited about and I am so thankful for all the retailers that have taken the time to opt-in, offer promotions, talk about the contest and spread the word to everyone that walks in their door.

Regarding the contest promotions from retailers, please note that the list will be complete and final around September 15, 2023, and we will not accept any more submissions after that date. Therefore, if you are a retailer, you have until September 15, 2023, to submit your opt-in shop listing as well as your promotion. To make it easy for you, I am including a link right here that will take you directly to the opt-in form. This will take you a total of 5 minutes or less and there is no reason why you shouldn’t put your shop out there and get into the fray. You gotta be in it to win it!

To me, the question is, why wouldn’t you opt-in? The only reason that I can think of not to opt-in is that you already have too many customers (doubtful) or your shop is permanently closed. In other words, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON NOT TO GET YOUR NAME ON THE LIST! Please sign up for the good of all the amazing consumers playing along with my challenge. And consumers, reach out to all your favorite fabric shop owners and ask them to make sure to sign up too please.

The long story short is that I, Scott Fortunoff, and my Jaftex Companies are trying to help our customers sell more fabric and get new customers to their stores. If they don’t accept our help by participating in all that we have going on to promote quilt shops and their businesses, there is not much else we can do to help them. But also, shop owners need to help themselves by paying attention to everything that we are doing to help them win. #ScottSentMe2023 is the perfect opportunity, and an easy one at that, to put shops out there and open them up to the opportunity of having lots of new visitors.

Thank you to everyone playing and involved. For consumers, I hope you have so much fun and get to see tons of amazing shops and lots of new products. I also hope you get to visit lots of new places. For shop owners, I hope this helps you gain lots of new foot traffic. In the end, this is just one more opportunity for all of us to celebrate fabric together and our amazing textile industry. Amen!

Be safe out there and have fun!

xoxo
