Thank You Larry

Many of you probably don’t know this, but over the last nearly 30 years, Larry Reichenberg ran Henry Glass Fabrics. He made so many great contributions over that time to get Henry Glass to where it is today.

Last Monday, Larry announced that he would be retiring. We of course will miss Larry, but wish him a well-deserved retirement with his lovely wife and family. We can’t thank him enough for his contributions over the years of which there were many.

Many of his greatest contributions included being a critical part of acquiring some of the amazingly talented designers that have helped to raise the Henry Glass profile. That would include One Sister, Kim Diehl, Shelley Comiskey, Dana Brooks, Leanne Anderson, Stacy West, Mary Jane Carey and so many others.

Larry did so much for the company. He served as the person in charge when there were no Fortunoff’s around. He helped to manage the various aspects of the quilt market. He traveled around to sell to distributors and join sales reps at appointments. He managed all the lines and people that worked with Henry Glass. He handled all the international distributor accounts. The list goes on and on and I don’t think I can capture in this short blog all that he accomplished during his tenure, but know that he did a ton.

The last thing I wanted to mention was all the lunches that Larry, my dad and brother had over the years and almost daily before covid. It was truly great to know Larry and consider him a friend and partner. He was very loyal, honest and could keep a secret. With that, I just want to send him a big thank you and congratulations. If you know Larry, I hope you do the same or write a nice farewell to him in the comments.

Outside of that, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be taking over for Larry to run Henry Glass. We will not be hiring someone new to replace him. The only other important thing to know is that not much is changing at Henry Glass except for the personnel. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at scott@jaftex.com.
