Top 10 Projects and Tips/Tricks from SIY-Sew It Yourself: A Year In Review

It’s been another great inspiration-filled year over at SIY-Sew It Yourself! Check out this year’s top fan-favorite projects and tips/tricks from the SIY blog. Comment to tell us what you are saving to your “to make list”!

1. Quilted Laptop Sleeve with Front Pocket: A confident-to-advanced beginner with some sewing experience will enjoy sewing this project. If you have not done any quilting before, this project will be a great introduction for you. Sally will take you through the process, step-by-step, and share a few handy hints and tips along the way.

Beginner’s Guide to Sewing Garments: 6 Easy Projects to Get Started: Embarking on the journey of sewing your own garments can be both exciting and intimidating, especially if you are new to the craft. However, with the right guidance and some beginner-friendly projects, you will be stitching up your own fashionable clothing in no time!

9. Quilted Knitting Supplies Case with Matching Pin Cushion: If you are a knitter or even a crocheter, you will know that there can be a lot of tools involved when you are working on a project and a lot of them can be very small and prone to getting lost. In this tutorial, Sally shows you how to sew a handy knitting supply roll that is perfect for keeping all of your needles, tape measures, clips, scissors, and pins in one place.

10. Cutie Pie Kitchen Apron: A kitchen apron is an easy sewing project for beginners and it also allows you to show off some of your cutest seasonal fabric prints! This apron includes a phone pocket so you can keep your recipe (or timer!) nearby. The top ruffle and one-size-fits-all neck strap make it stand out from the rest.

    My favorite projects are the handbag & the apron! I once made an apron out fabric the had mathematical equations printed on it. Aprons are one my favorite projects to make. Idea: make an apron for every month of 2025! 😁

      Thanks for the message. We do not sell any thread. Mostly fabric, precuts, kits, wide-backs, t towels and a few other fabric related items.
