Yet Another Blog For #ScottSentMe2021

We are about 3 weeks into the ScottSentMe2021 Challenge. That is my challenge to consumers to see how many quilt shops they can visit in the US and/or Canada from September 1, 2021, to November 30, 2021. Today, I want to make sure to bring you up to speed as to what’s going on with the challenge thus far and also entice you to get involved before it is too late.

Before I talk about what I am observing with the challenge and bring you up to speed, I did want to ask for some help. There are two groups of people that I would really like to make sure know about the challenge and encourage them to get involved:

  1. Guilds. I know that so many of you are involved with guilds. I would really appreciate your help in spreading the word to your group. This sort of event is right up your members’ alleys. There is no good reason why they shouldn’t know. With that, whether you think your guild members know about the challenge or not, please take the time to tell them and remember to share all the pertinent details. Post it on your guild’s website, Facebook page, Instagram page, etc. Make sure to link the post to the rules to the challenge and while you are there checking the rules, please take a moment to look around my blog posts to read related articles.
  2. People Participating In Shop Hops. A little birdie told me that there are a lot of shop hops going on during the same timeframe as the #ScottSentMe2021 Challenge. In fact, I know that the All Carolinas Shop Hop begins soon because my company is a sponsor of that event. With that, if you are involved with a shop hop and have a way of spreading the word of the challenge to your participants, I of course would appreciate that greatly because those people need to know about #ScottSentMe2021.

ALL NEW!!! October & November 2021

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me spread the word about this fun fabric event.

The #ScottSentMe2021 Challenge private Facebook Group and the Instagram group with the same name are starting to see lots of traffic, great posts and lots of photo proof of visits from contestants. It’s great to watch things unfold. It’s also great to see people photographed in quilt shops because you know that is their happy place. Let’s face it, I want people to be happy so this is doing the job for sure. I must say that I especially love the photos with young children and equally like the ones where quilters bring their parents along too.

I love the dialogue going on between participants. That is another thing that makes me happy to see. I love to be able to help fabric consumers meet like-minded quilters. In fact, it seems like there is a group of avid #ScottSentMe2021’ers who have banded together to create the #ScottSentMePosse. Who would have thunk? In any case, I love everything about the challenge and all the great things it does for shop owners and consumers who eat, sleep and breathe fabric.

I wanted to tell you that every Wednesday, I pick 3 random winners from either Facebook or Instagram to get a random fabric price from me. Get on with your posting and you too will have the opportunity to win a prize before the challenge is even over.

Last but not least, I wanted you to know that the shop opt-in list is now finalized. That includes a list of shops that have opted-in to the challenge. They have also offered an enticing promo to get you to visit their shop. That list of over 200 shops can be found here. I keep getting this question so I am going to answer it again:

Does a shop have to be on the list for the visit to count towards my total number of visits? No. Every shop in the US and Canada visited will count towards the total number of visits that you make. Even if the shop owner doesn’t know about the contest, the visit still will count. On the other hand, when it is time for the grand prize winners to pick a shop to spend their winnings at, that shop must be a direct Jaftex customer. If they are not our direct customer, we have no way of giving them the credit for the consumer winner to use.

Get it? Got it? Good!

xoxo
