January 2024 Release Highlights From The Blank Quilting Corporation

In the January 2024 Blank Quilting Corporation release of new lines for sale, there are 13 collections that will be shipping from July to September 2024. You will notice that there are more digital lines than normal as that allows us more flexibility with the printing quantities. In other words, unlike traditional printing where you have to print a minimum of 800-1000 yards, with digital, we can print less. This is very helpful in allowing us to manage our inventory better. One other thing to mention, we recently moved our digital printing from Pakistan to Korea and the quality is way better.

Up first, we have Cheerful Cheeks digital by Lena Asimova. This line ships in August. This 12-sku orange, grey, brown and white juvenile collection is sure to put a small on any kid’s face. The animals in this collection are so stinkin’ cute. I especially like the Fall Friends quilt that was designed by Lisa Swenson Ruble. It uses the 24″ panel that I have included below. You can check out the project here.

Next up is a new pigment-printed quilt back line called Eden 108″ by Satin Moon Designs. This 8-sku collection ships in July 2024 and will be printed in Pakistan as is all of our other 108″ and 118″ quilt backs. As with many of our 108″ collections, we utilize one design and offer it in several colors…8 colors in this case. The design is a simple leaf texture and looks so nice in this array of muted pastels. Which is your favorite color?

The next line contains pearl ink in the design as you can see a little bit on the image below. The line is Glacial Pearl and it is by Mark Hordyszynski. It ships July 2024 and comes in 16 different colors. Like the previous Eden 108″ collection, this line is one single design in many colors. With the pearl in the design, quilters get an added bonus that will help their quilt stand out in the crowd. What’s your favorite color for this line?

Gypsy Violet digital by Sheena Pike is an 11-sku feminine and whimsical horse collection that ships in July. I find the purple color to be mesmerizing, vibrant and appealing. I am sure that any young girl who loves horses would feel the same about this fabric line. And if they love purple, forget about it! By the way, do you know what the technical term is for someone who loves horses? A hippophile. You learn something new every day.

Land Of The Giants digital is an 8-sku collection by Franco Tempesta. Unlike the last collection which was more for girls, this one is probably more for boys with all the realistic-looking dinosaurs. I find that the more realistic images come out so much better when they are printed digitally. That is the case with this line for sure. By the way, what’s your favorite dinosaur?

Meta Dot is a simple collection in that it is made up of large dots in various colorways. This line is by Mark Hordysznyski, contains 6 different color variations and ships in July. The idea here was to come up with several colorways of large dots so that the consumer could make seasonal or themed quilts using just the dots. The variations include Christmas, patriotic, Halloween, black/white, white/black and an off-white version and most all have projects to go with them. Make sure to go to the website to see all the very simple projects that we are offering.

Nature’s Whisper digital by Carissa Bordeleau is a 14-sku collection that ships in September. This extremely sophisticated dark-colored collection features birds, butterflies, plants and flowers. You would not expect butterflies or flowers in these dark colors, but I must say that is what makes it appealing to me. Would you work with a dark collection like this? Or do you prefer the usual butterflies and flowers in uplifting and bright colors? I think it is fresh, but that’s me.

Night Garden Digital by JK Stewart of Duirwagh Studios is by far the coolest collection in this release. The art is truly amazing, beautiful and interesting. The title, Night Garden, is certainly fitting. It is truly like no fabric line I have ever seen. I will let you decide for yourself, but check out how awesome all the designs look in the collage below. If the collage isn’t doing it justice, go check out the line on the website or you can check out the one other design I added below. What would you make with this line?

Paradox II is a new black-and-white collection that was done in-house by the Blank Quilting design team. Black and white is a staple for many quilters. Some of the more popular black-and-white prints in this line include the dragonflies, the handwriting, the cow skin and most of all the newspaper print. This group has 20 designs and will ship in August. Which is your favorite?

Purely Neutral digital by Satin Moon Designs is a 20-sku collection that ships in September. It’s comprised of 10 cream neutrals and 10 grey neutrals. This is a great basic collection to have in your stash because you can never have enough options for quiet in your quilts.

Safari Sights by Lucca Sheppard is a 10-sku group that ships in September. With this group, you feel like you are on a safari. Unfortunately for me, I have never been on a safari, but would love to do that one day. It’s on my bucket list, but it might be a tough one to get around to. We shall see. Have you been on a safari? If so, I am jealous. Check out how realistic the animals look in the pillow panel below.

Western Boho Baby digital by Erica Billups is a 9-sku cowboy collection for kids that ships in August. I can see an entire kid’s or baby’s room decorated with this line. It might not be a kid where I live, but I can think of lots of areas where kids would adore having their bedroom loaded up with fabrics from this group. Below is one of my favorite skus from the collection. It has the feel of a toile.

Whiskers Among Petals digital by Mardell Schuster is an 11-sku cat collection that ships in September. By now, you know I am a dog person so this isn’t necessarily for me. It is for all the ailurophiles (cat lovers) out there as I am sure they will enjoy it. An interesting fact about this line is that artificial intelligence (AI) helped Mardell create this collection. I guess that is our future….AI designed fabrics. What will they think of next?

There you have it folks, the Blank Quilting Corporation January 2024 release. I would love to hear what your favorite collection is. Also, like last week, if you made it to the end and are reading this, I will send a nice fabric prize to the fifth person who answers any of the questions that I have posed in this blog. I look forward to your response. Have a great week!

I prefer and ask for Jaftex widebacks. Experience has shown the quality is consistant and the value is great. I keep asking for them where ever I shop. Not enough people know about them yet. It does seem like the market is a bit crowded with widebacks right now. But I still prefer your brands.

Natures whisper, Purely neutral, Western boho, and Land of the Giants! Can’t wait to find them near me. Girls love dinosaurs too, as the number of female archeologists continues to grow. What a great way to encourage girls in the sciences! In love with Natures whisper, such quiet beauty.

Lots of lovely collections! And what great variety — something for everyone. I thing the Paradox line will work with a lot of other fabrics and my favorite from that line is the one shown on the lower right corner swatch.

Nature’s Whisper Tones – I love the butterflies in dark tones, great for background in ‘scrappy’ quilts.
