January 2024 Release Highlights From Henry Glass Fabrics

Before I dive into the blog for the week, I wanted to wish everyone a meaningful Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It is a day to honor and reflect on what Dr. King stood for and to recognize how far we have come to achieve equality for so many.

In the newest release from Henry Glass Fabrics, there are 15 new collections that ship in the summer of 2024. Let’s dive right into it so I can dazzle you with all the awesomeness.

Blue Prints, by Color Principle, is the first collection on the list. This 15-sku collection is full of blueness as is implied in the line title. Various shades of blue are brought together to create a lovely assortment of prints that include flowers, geometrics, paisleys and so much more. Check out the collage below of the entire group. The possibilities are endless and sure to not leave you blue!

The next line to preview is Cheerful & Colorful by Kate Mawdsley. This 11-sku collection ships in August. Like the previous group, the title is very fitting. This collection is certainly cheerful and colorful. It contains loads of primary-colored critters paired up with numbers to help teach kids to count. This collection contains a soft-book too which is most regularly a top seller in the collection that it is in. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t share this super fun block print.

Cobalt Seas by Andrea Tachiera is next. This12-sku beach and sea collection ships in September. I always find these water and beach-themed collections to be so peaceful. It makes me dream of one day owning a beach house adorned with all the beauty of the vast oceans. One can dream! I also love these lines because I have a bit of “nature boy” in me and especially liked all the animals of the sea. Who doesn’t love the beauty of all the sea creatures frolicking around in the water? The panel below will serve as a good taste of what this collection is all about.

Feeling Groovy by Athena Art Studios is a line that will bring you back to the good old hippy days when everything was very “cool man”. Peace! This 10-sku collection ships in September. Think lava lamps, peace signs, smiley faces and so many other trippy hippy motifs. Before I move on, let’s just say that I definitely had a lava lamp and it is still at my parent’s house where I grew up. It still works great and whenever I sleep over there, I enjoy being mesmerized by the lava.

Mrs. Kim Diehl is back with another new line. This line is called Garnets & Gingham. It contains 20-skus and ships in July. Fat quarters, strips, charms and squares will all be offered with this line too. As the name would imply, this collection is filled with lots of Kim’s typical ditsy prints in various shades of red. The collage below says it all.

I Love Sports by Leanne Anderson & Kaytlyn Kuebler is next. This 13-sku collection ships in August. The mother-daughter duo design team has a very recognizable hand. In other words, it is very easy to identify their artwork out of the crowd. In this collection, it’s all about sports…..lots of different sports. And this line has a book panel too! What’s your favorite sport?

Moose Lodge by Jan Shade Beach was a line we brought back from the past due to its huge success. This lodge-themed collection contains 16-skus and ships in July. I find it ironic that this line did so well in the past because so many of the designs are more on the basic side like the pinecones, feathers, branches, wood textures and plaids. There are only 3 more important prints that include the blocks, the cardinals and the wildlife allover prints. Normally, there would be a lot more important prints and less basics, but when things work, they just work. That is the case here. Does anyone remember this line from way back when?

Nana Mae 8 by Henry Glass Fabrics is the 8th iteration of our in-house designed 1930’s prints. The 24 cheery-colored retro prints ship in July. What’s great about the prints in this line is that they blend in perfectly with any previous Nana Mae prints a shop may have on its shelves. The motifs include retro dots, bunnies, flowers, geos, farm animals and so much more. Are you a 1930’s prints fan?

Janet Rae Nesbitt of One Sister Designs is back with another winner. This time, we have 20-skus of Oak & Maple that ship in August. In Janet’s usual way, she has a few mixed media lead prints and surrounds them with lots of lovely ditsy prints in rich primitive colors of rust, burgundy, dark green and more. I can’t wait to see all the great projects that Janet offers with this group because she always has amazing inspiration for all to enjoy.

Parkside, by Color Principle, is the only 118″ backing in this release. 118″ has been a growing category for Henry Glass and all the Jaftex Companies. This group is comprised of one paisley design in 5 colorways including black/white, cream, purple, teal and royal blue. This line ships in July and I am sure all your quilts can’t wait to add a little Parkside to their backsides. Have you tried 118″ backing yet?

Simply Be by Anni Downs will be Anni’s last collection for Henry Glass Fabrics. We have had a great run with Anni over the years and are sorry to see her go, but wish her luck in her future endeavors. Her last line with Henry Glass contains 17 prints. The idea of the collection is to celebrate life and the simple things within it like flowers, geometrics and stripes. Below I share one color of the main print that comes on a green and white ground.

Stop Wining is a new digital collection by Andrea Tachiera. The 11-skus start to ship in September. First and foremost, I wanted to recognize the cool name…Stop Wining. Very clever, eh? Anyway, quilters always joke about enjoying wine so this one is for all of you. With that, please stop wining and carrying on with wining and quilting.

The Whole New Ball Game digital line by Goldi L. Studio contains 15 designs and ships in July. 14 of the skus are one single print in various solid colors that reminds me of a ball pit. Add to that the great cheater chevron that ties all the colors together and you have the making of an awesome quilt. Below is the cheater chevron and you can also get a feel for what the ball pit looks like that I referenced. I think this line is going to have so many great uses. Which is your favorite ball color?

Willow Wood by Goldi L. Studio is the only 108″ group in this release. It contains 9-skus comprised of 2 designs. One design is a distressed texture in brown, purple, green and teal. The other design is a pussy willow design that comes in navy, purple, teal, brick and gray. Do you fancy the distressed look or the pussy willow? And, which color?

Last, but not least, I would like to share You Are My Sunshine by Dawn Rosengren. This 16-sku collection ships in August. Dawn is definitely making her way up my favorite designer list these days. Her art is just so sweet. Whether its the adorable little animals or the very soft colors, this line is sure to be a winner. It definitely doesn’t hurt that the line has a book panel as those are always great sellers. I am going to leave you with an image of the panel and you can see just what I am talking about.

That is all she wrote folks. I sure hope you made it to the end. With that, I would like to ask you which is your favorite collection? Also, which is your favorite backing fabric?

For those that have read down to here, I am going to give you the chance to win a prize. The fifth person to comment on their favorite line will get a freebie prize from me and my prizes definitely don’t suck!
