My Favorite January 2024 Shipping Collections

Happy New Year everyone! Have any quilting-related resolutions this year? I’m excited to tell you all about my favorite shipping collections for January 2024!

My favorite collection from Blank Quilting is Ocean Oasis by Patricia Pinto. This group is the perfect escape from the cold weather in January. It brings back fond memories of being at the beach with my family. The sound of waves crashing to the shore is always so peaceful. This group has two free projects available on the Blank Quilting Corp. website. Shown below is the Framework Quilt.

How many fish can you count in the Schools of Fish pattern? Looking at all the swimming fish underwater makes me want to go scuba-diving. By the way, did you know that at one point in my life I was certified in scuba? I can almost smell the sea air and feel the sand below me as I take in these wonderous fish swimming in the coral reefs. Make waves when you quilt with Ocean Oasis. Check out some more of the patterns featuring seashells, seahorses and more on the Blank Quilting Corp. website.

In the Pink by Este MacLeod is my favorite collection from FreeSpirit Fabrics. The textures drew me into this group. Bits of paintings come together in a collage-like effect to create flowers and other abstract prints. The sophisticated colors in this group are perfect for creating home decor. Make some decorative pillows to add pops of color to a neutral living room with the In the Pink collection.

There is a great assortment of colors in each pattern and you can pair any of them together easily. I also appreciate that some patterns lean more toward cooler colors while others are a bit warmer. This gives a lot of versatility to this collection and makes it even easier to create a quilt that is unique to your style.

Friday Harbor by Janet Rae Nesbitt of One Sister Designs is my favorite collection shipping for Henry Glass & Co., Inc. The first thing that caught my eye in this collection is the panel as it shows various quilts hanging from a line. The red, white and blue in this collection make it perfect for creating a patriotic quilt. I would love to create a quilt like the one in the panel with all the stars in a checkerboard pattern.

The assortment of star patterns is a delight to choose from. If you want something a little more unique use the squiggly star stripe or keep it classic and go for the straight stripe with stars. The chevron-like patterns with stars and stripes remind me of fireworks. It’s easy to balance the red, white and blues in a quilt with this assortment of patriotic prints.

Paw-sitively Awesome by Sweet Cee Creative will have your furry friends barking with glee. Take a walk down the quilting fabric aisles to check out this paw-some group. The panel is my favorite piece in the collection as it features six different breeds of dogs and has a pawprint pattern behind the blocks. Create pillows, quilts and more with the blocks in the panel. A great way to use up any leftover scraps you might have when making a project with this group would be to create a dog toy.

As you sew a project with this group, your best friend is sure to be sitting there wagging their tail. Throw a bone to your furry companion so you can focus on fetching some yards of the Paw-sitively Awesome collection. Then curl up with them under the quilt you made.

I hope you enjoy these collections as much as I do. When do you think you will have your first 2024 quilt done? I can’t wait to see it!
