Kicking The New Year Off With Some New Fabrics From Studio E Fabrics

I am starting a new series this year whereby I or someone else on my team will be writing a blog about the newest Jaftex collections. I am starting off with Studio E Fabrics here today and in the coming weeks, there will be blogs for The Blank Quilting Corp., Henry Glass Fabrics & FreeSpirit Fabrics too. For future releases, we will be following the same plan which means Henry Glass will have a blog in March. All the other companies will have blogs around our April release. Henry Glass will have one for its May release. Then all the companies will have posts for their July and October releases.

Studio E Fabrics

Are you ready? Let’s dive right in.

The Studio E Fabrics January 2023 release has 12 new collections that ship anywhere from July 2023 to October 2023. Here is a link to the lookbook so you can see all the collections and look at them at your leisure. Below, I talk briefly about the lines.

  • A Pink Celebration by Lilac Bee Designs. This is a breast cancer awareness line. These days, so many women are impacted by breast cancer which is very sad. This small collection in pinks, adorned with butterflies, flowers and breast cancer ribbons is the perfect fabric to make a quilt for someone enduring breast cancer treatment or someone who is a breast cancer survivor. I especially like the pattern 7312p-22 as it is a spectacular 36″ panel that is so versatile.

  • Cold Winter Morning by Kathleen Francour. This is a lovely blue and taupe winter wildlife scenic collection. This is a great collection for someone who enjoys nature or perhaps is even a hunter. I especially like the coloring of this group. I am drawn to pattern 7296-77 which is a patch toss as well as pattern 7299-93 which is a tonal scenic.

  • Cottage Farmhouse Fusion by Maureen Fiorellini. Lately, the cottage core is all the buzz. This line captures the essence of cottage core which reflects on the old-world charm of when times were simpler. I am most fond of pattern 7097-44 which is called Grandmother’s Flower Garden.

  • Craft Room by Perky Tangerine. This is a 12-piece crafting group that is very relative to our broader industry which I would classify as crafts. What quilter wouldn’t love to make a quilt with all these crafty types of motifs? This is your jam! Not only that, but how can you not like a line by someone with the moniker of Perky Tangerine? Check out the fun free projects too! Love these cute little bags. They are perfect for all your crafty tools and such.

  • Fast & Wild by Alfredo de la Montana. This is a small 8-piece race car collection. We always get requests for more male-oriented lines so here is one for that list. Vrooom!
  • Fractal Forest Digital by Art Loft is a follow-up to Fractal Flowers which was a huge hit for Studio E. This 12-piece collection has a master print 24-inch panel containing the most wonderful and colorful fractal tree in the center as well as 3 blocks of geometrics above and below the tree. The other coordinates in this group are mostly wild geometric and extremely colorful prints showing off the capabilities of digital printing and that of the Art Loft Studio. Check out the free project that features the panel in the center. Love it!
  • Hothouse Magic by Chelsea DesignWorks. This line is appealing to me because it utilizes several kaleidoscope designs which I feel look really spectacular on quilts. It takes away a lot of the hard work as compared to having to sew a kaleidoscope from scratch. I also love the way black and white prints are incorporated into this line as we continue to see strong demand for black and white. And, there is a newspaper print too which is always one of our most popular designs no matter what the line.
How neat are these kaleidoscopes? Don’t you like how the black and white is peppered in too?
  • Mew-sic Legends by Planet Cat is probably my favorite line in this release because I am a big music fan or shall I say, “Mew-sic?” I would have preferred it to be a dog music line as I am more of a dog person, but it’s still a great line nonetheless. Can you name the famous people each of these cats is depicting?

  • Raspberry Ripple by Judy Gauthier. If you need some more red and white in your life, this one is for you. We have been hearing that there hasn’t been so much red and white lately so we are going to make an effort to fill that void along with our friend and quilt shop owner, Judy Gauthier.
Who wouldn’t want to make this red and white quilt for their loved one? This is one of the free projects for the Raspberry Ripple collection.

  • Tranquil Flannel III is the newest 108″ flannel collection. There aren’t a lot of 108″ flannel prints in the market so we are going to continue to bring you what our competitors aren’t. These backings are especially good for people in really cold areas who need a little extra warmth from their quilts. It helps save on heating bills too!
  • Tropical Menagerie by Sharon Lee. This fun tropical collection includes bugs, birds and beautiful flowers in a lovely aqua story. On top of that, there is a pink leopard and those are trending this year so make sure to get it while you can.

If you are a shop owner, please reach out to your sales rep, customer service or your favorite distributor to buy this collection. Or, you can always order online or contact me at scott@jaftex.com.

If you are a consumer, make sure to reach out to your favorite fabric reseller to ask them to buy this line. Don’t forget that these lines don’t ship until July-October 2023 so you are going to have to be patient.

Well, that was fun. I hope you enjoyed my concise synopsis and analysis of the latest and greatest brought to you by the team at Studio E Fabrics! What’s your favorite line?

Great description of the fabrics. And as always all is gorgeous; no one will be able to pick just one line as a favorite!
While scrolling through, I had a lot of project ideas that popped in my head that I could sew for specific people I know.
Looking forward to your next blog.
