Let Me Tell You About The Newest Blank Quilting Corp. Lines For January 2023

Today, I am continuing with my new series for 2023 whereby I will review the latest lines released for sale to fabric resellers around the world by each of my quilt shop-only companies. This week, I will be focusing on The Blank Quilting Corp.

Are you ready? Let’s do this!

The Blank Quilting Corp. January 2023 release consists of 15 new collections that ship anywhere from July 2023 to October 2023. Here is a link to the lookbook if you would like to review all the latest and greatest in one shot. Below, I will talk briefly about the lines.

Adventure Awaits by Jackie Decker. This is a fun little 11-piece retro travel line. For those who enjoy traveling, this one is for you all the way. What I want to focus on about this line are the inspirational projects. The reason I want to do that is because we are revamping our projects across our companies and the projects for this line are some of the first by the “new team” we have put in place. I am confident that these new and improved projects are going to help us to increase sales. Check out this project called Crossroads Quilt by Villa Rosa. What do you think?

Aurora by Sinead Jones: I am definitely partial to this 11-piece cold winter animal line although I am starting to dislike the cold weather as I get older. Not only are the animals absolutely adorable, but the glowing blues in this collection are very appealing too. Check out how those two aspects come together on the 24″ panel below.

Blissful Meadows by D. Rusty Rust: This very realistic wildlife line captures the essence of all the beauty that nature has to offer. The artwork is so fabulously rendered that I can’t wait to see how nice this all looks on fabric. I must say that my favorite design in the group is the flying ducks with clouds print 2956-11 because I know this will really elevate any quilt with the amazing variations of tones in the sky and the added bonus of the ducks. How neat! Check it out below.

Crescent 108″ by Urban Essence: Check out the 6 colors of one of the newest 108″ collections using pattern 2970. This is sure to add some nice movement to the backside of a future quilt.

Fancy Glass by Satin Moon Design: This line depicting a variety of stained glass windows is fabulous. The colors are cheery and the designs open up a ton of project opportunities. I think this project by the new “project team” speaks volumes to the versatility of this line. Look how stunning the project is below using the 24″ panel in the center. It’s truly magical and you just want to go up to the window and peek in to see what’s on the other side.

Gardenscape by Rathenart Designs: This new wildflower and garden line combo is truly beautiful. I am particularly drawn to the abstract floral. How cool is this design?

Not only I am really digging the above design, but the projects are really spectacular too. Check it out:

Jot Dot 108″ by The Blank Quilting Corp.: The Jot Dot collection is the line that keeps on giving. We run this line in 44″ in 32 different colors and it is really taking hold. In addition, we carry precuts for this line too: fat quarters, strips, 5×5 and 10×10 charms. Shop owners and consumers alike are talking about Jot Dot. It’s starting to take a big position on many a shop’s color wall. With that, today we introduce new 108″ colors which will be a fabulous addition to the backside of a future quilt project. Here is one color of that design.

Kaliedographix by Suzan Lind: This psychedelic new collection has a lot to offer. It has shapes, it has scale and it has color. All of which can be used together to make a fabulous project. Or, this is the type of line that you can mix with any other prints on the market….Jaftex preferred of course. I am having a hard time picking my favorite, but if I had to, I think I would go with this one. It all goes back to what my dad taught me when I started in the business, “Everything looks great on black.” What is your favorite?

Midnight Rendezvous by Raquel Maciel: This sophisticated moth line is very fresh to me. It’s probably one of my favorites from this new release. What I like about it is that it’s done in dark colors rather than the traditional primary cheery colors that this sort of line would normally be designed in. And, although it is on the darker side, it is equally as nice as a primary colored line in the same theme. The panel below speaks volumes with those moons that look like they are glowing and accents of gold.

Modern Abstractions by Bentpath Studios: Blank Quilting typically offers geometric lines like this one. This line is all about the movement and the blue and beige tones. For this line, I would like to draw your attention to the neat projects from the new “project team.”

Pond Life by Elsie Ess: Here’s a bright and colorful one for the kids. Check out the collage of the entire line below.

Quilter’s Haven by Satin Moon Designs: I expect this one to be a winner as I haven’t seen many lines with the quilt retreat theme. In addition, with more and more retreat centers popping up all around, this is sure to be included in part of the retreat fun. Or, after the retreat, people can use this line to memorialize a special memory and all the friends they made. Check out the 24″ panel below.

Royal Jelly by Jane Archer: This is another definite favorite of mine. With all the bee lines out there, I feel this color story is not just the same old yellow, more yellow and black. By keeping the line soft and subtle, this bee line stands by itself.

Sophisti-Cats Digital by Leslie Anne Ivory: This is one of the most elegant cat lines I have ever seen as it is inspired by William Morris. Also, this will be the first Jaftex line digitally printed in Korea. I wanted to give that a shot to see how it compared to Pakistan where we produce all of our other digital line. With that, the Korean digital is living up to my expectations, but unfortunately, the price is way higher than Pakistan and ultimately may prove prohibitive. The jury isn’t out yet, but we shall see if Korean digital prints become a more meaningful part of our business.

Whimsy Daisical II by Keri Schneider: Last but, not least, we have Whimsy Daisical II. Obviously, since this is 2, that means there was a 1 and that was likely a good line. With that, we are coming back with some of the same designs in this fun tutti fruity colorway as I like to describe it. This line makes me want to smile and I especially like the chevron-type quilt that is contained in the project. Check out the Mountains Quilt below designed by Melissa Milligan from Villa Rosa.
