Introducing the New Jaftex Brand Ambassador Program (Part 4 of 4)
Meet The Henry Glass Brand Ambassadors Felicia Frakes “I have always believed that being a lifelong learner is the key to personal growth. So with that mindset, I took on the adventure of learning to quilt. Quilting has taught me how to get uncomfortable, create, try and even fail. Along the path that I started, the math and measurements became an adventure in new relationships, service and a way to share love through the warmth of a quilt. Follow her on Instagram, @faquilts. Janie McCombs “I started quilting when I was in my early 20’s. I get my inspiration from quilting magazines, blogs and research on the internet for a…

More Great Advice For Quilt Shop Owners From Customers Part II
Last week, in part one of this three part series, I summarized consumer suggestions for retailers to help them improve in these areas: general etiquette, customer service, product offerings and employee strategy . Today, I will continue on with more topics and next week I will wrap it all up. Here goes. FABRIC CUTTING: Make sure to cut all fabric straight and with the grain. Cut panels as accurately as possible. Consider giving a little bit of extra fabric with each cut. You don’t want customers getting home and finding that they are short by a small amount. Keep the cutting table clear of clutter and food. Please don’t be…

Caring For Our Planet
Oftentimes when I am at speaking engagements or talking to customers, people are always asking about the mills we use. They want to make sure that the workers at the mills we are using are of age and being treated properly. They also want to know about recycling and how we care for the planet. A while back, I sent a list of questions to 3 different South Korean suppliers and one in China. Below, I will list the questions and the answers that I received. Q: How does your mill deal with wastewater and pollution? Wastewater and pollution testing is conducted regularly. Mills use pollutant emission prevention facilities. They…
