The Moment We’ve Been Waiting For….Quilt Market October 2022 Houston, TX

It sure has been a long time since my last quilt market in October 2019. 3 years later, we are getting back on track. Quite frankly, I am looking forward to it as I miss seeing so many customers who I only really get to see at the quilt market. I sure hope many others feel the same so that my team and I aren’t sitting around looking at each other and twiddling our thumbs.

Anyway you slice it and no matter what happens, team Jaftex will be walking around with smiley faces and making the best of the quilt market. Unlike many competitors that I hear are unfortunately not attending at all, team Jaftex is going big. Why not? We figured that after all these years of not having quilt market that we should come back with a splash and a bang. We have worked it out that we will have our own block that will be nothing but Jaftex, Jaftex and more Jaftex.

That block of heaven will be filled with our company booths (FreeSpirit, Studio E, Henry Glass, Blank Quilting, A.E. Nathan and 3 Wishes) as well as all of our associated licensed designers who will be attending too. In addition, this year we are going to have a designer hang-out booth. This should be a neat addition in that it will allow our customers some quiet time to hang out and chat with all of our most preeminent designers that will be in attendance. As we get closer to the quilt market, we will be sure to share the schedule of who will be at the hang-out each day and at what time.

As you know, we at Jaftex love to do all that we can to support our retail customers. As such, this year we will be sponsoring boatloads of schoolhouses….I think around 20. This demonstrates our continued support of the industry and our customers who we value so greatly. I hope that all those in attendance take the time to take advantage of all the great schoolhouses our team will be putting on. Again, as we get closer to the quilt market, I will be sure to share the details.

Here are a few other things about the quilt market to mention and things on my mind:

  • Kaffe Fassett will be celebrating his 85th birthday. You will have to be there to see what we have in store on this front.
  • Our focus this quilt market will be on showing our newest October 2022 released collections that ship in 2023. This will include a lot of Christmas, Harvest, Halloween and winter themed lines. Of course, we will also have a lot of different everyday lines too as we always do.
  • It’s uncertain as to how many of our international customers will be in attendance, but for those that can make it, we will be welcoming them with open arms.
  • Don’t forget that it’s been a while since we all have seen each other so make sure that your badge can be seen and isn’t covered up or backward. I meet so many people at the quilt market so it is always a challenge for me to keep up with who is who especially since we haven’t seen each other in 3 years. A lot can change in 3 years.
  • I was wondering whether there will be companies up for sale due to the challenges that all businesses are facing these days post-Covid and due to war and inflation. I guess we will have to wait and see. With that being said, we at Jaftex are always looking for opportunities to grow our footprint.

I need to do some research on this. Is this just for quilt shops to get the opportunity to see great company’s and their designers or is it open to the public? I would love to go after I retire next year. Have a great time!!

This sounds like such a wonderful time. I wish I had made plans to attend to see everything that you mentioned in your post. I know if Jaftex is involved it will be spectacular!
