Valentine’s Day Love From Yours Truly

My social media/marketing team asked me to pen a Valentine’s Day post and feature some of my most beloved Valentine’s Day lines.  The problem is that all the Valentine’s Day fabrics are already in shops on the shelves as they were shipped out months ago.  That means that I am kind of looking in the rearview mirror.

Moreover, it doesn’t help you much because it isn’t exactly enough time to whip up a Valentine’s Day gift for this year.  If you want to plan something for next year, that’s another story.  Or if you wanted to gift someone some Valentine’s Day fabric, you can do that too. With all that being said, I think I will just be mushy and cheesy talking about love, romance and…..fabric!

When I scour my various company websites in search of some fabric that screams “love”, this is what I discovered.  To start, from Studio E Fabrics, the Raspberry Ripple collection catches my eye.  Red and pink are the colors that come to my mind when I think of Valentine’s Day.  As such, this line is a strong pick for the big day with all the red.  Not only that, but check out the great free project that we offer which I have shared below.  It is an awesome red and white heart quilt with hearts allover. It sounds like V-day to me. Next year Valentine’s Day, here we come!

From Henry Glass, we have two lines that caught my eye.  One is called Be Mine by Jane Allison.  I mean…..  What a fitting collection name to start!  That, and the line is really adorable. It is a red and pink group mixing lots of different sized hearts with -birds and bees. Another perfect line for the big day.

The other line is called Gnomie Love by Shelly Comisky.  This was a Covid collection so to speak.  When I say that, I mean that it is a line that we bought during Covid.  It was unfortunately one of the lines that we ordered way too much of, then the bottom fell out of fabric sales and everything slowed dramatically.  As such, let’s just say we have a little bit of inventory.  And when I say a little bit of inventory, I am talking about fabric that my great grandkids might be selling lol.  In any case, regardless of our large inventory position, the Gnomie Love collection is so adorable and sweet.  Shelley Comiskey is such a fabulous illustrator.  No one can do gnomes like she can.  See for yourself below:

Moving on to FreeSpirit, we have Anna Marie’s Love Always.  I mean, how can I not pick that one?  The name says it all. For this one, you will definitely have to wait until next Valentine’s Day because it ships later this year. In any case, while I am here, I might as well show some love for Anna’s amazing Echinaceas which would certainly work for Vday.

For The Blank Quilting Corp., I am struggling a little bit to find a screaming Vday line so I am going to have to wing it. My first pick would be the new Allure 118″ fabric. That word allure is so fitting for Vday meaning mysteriously attractive and fascinating like my wife or any of the beautiful women reading this blog….yes you silly! Check out how alluring the design is below.

The other selections for Blank would be either Natural Beauties or Natural Treasures 2. Again, like my wife or all the lovely ladies reading this post right now, you are all natural beauties and natural treasures. I sure hope you all hear that a lot on Vday especially from the 3 men reading this blog.

I guess I figured out how to write a blog about Vday without any brand new Vday lines to discuss, but before I go, I would be remiss if I didn’t address the Vday that goes wrong. The truth is that we all know about those horrid Vday breakups. Of course, I have a few lines for that too:

  • Wiggle 108″ by Studio E Fabrics. Sometimes you just need to wiggle out of a relationship or Vday plans.
  • Into the Jungle by Jessica Mundo for Henry Glass Fabrics. If you are unlucky and get dumped on Vday, it’s time to head back into the dating jungle.
  • All You Need Is Love & Cat by Beth Logan for Henry Glass Fabrics. If all else fails, hopefully you have a cat or dog who will sit nearby while you drown your sorrows in a large tub of ice cream.
  • Liberty For All by Jessica Mundo for Henry Glass Fabrics. You might be happy that the relationship is over and there will finally be liberty for all.
  • Brave by Anna Maria by FreeSpirit Fabrics. Now that you will be heading back out into the dating jungle, you will have to be brave.
  • Midnight Rendezvous by Raquel Maciel for The Blank Quilting Corp. If you play your cards right, perhaps you can scrounge up an old flame before Vday is over. If you are so lucky, perhaps you could pull-off a midnight rendezvous.
  • And when all else fails, you can always go back to Square One.

If all else fails, just know that I still love you. I hope you have a special day and will be smiling from ear to ear.
