Villa Rosa Designs Fast & Fun Blog Hop – January 19-26 2023

I’m proud to be a participant of the first EVER Villa Rosa Blog Hop. My team and I have worked with Villa Rosa Designs to create these mockups (shown below) of some pretty awesome quilts made with a special set of Villa Rosa Designs Rose Card Patterns. These quilts feature a few of our newest collections from your favorite Jaftex brands: Studio E Fabrics, The Blank Quilting Corporation, Henry Glass & Co. and FreeSpirit Fabrics. Check them out below! PLUS you won’t want to miss several opportunities to win some INCREDIBLE prizes at the end of this blog post.

First up, from Studio E Fabrics is Cottage Farmhouse Fusion by Maureen Fiorellini which includes fabrics that reflect a modern hand painted look. Textured florals mixed with vintage old world charm are reminiscent of a simpler time when everything in our homes served a purpose. A fresh palette of calming tones with accents of dusty charcoal. Perfect for home décor projects and for anyone who loves the modern farmhouse aesthetic, but longs for a hint of cozy cottage. Get comfy with your next quilting project! Ships in August 2023.

Next, from The Blank Quilting Corporation is Modern Abstractions by Bentpath Studio. This minimalist inspired 11-piece collection features a 24” block panel, a flower design, dots, abstract geo patterns, squiggles and abstract lines. This abstract collection is colored in a neutral color palette of beige, slate, grey and black.

Equally important from Henry Glass & Co. is Gardening Snowmen from Jan Mott of Crane Designs. This 12-piece collection features a 24” panel with a scene of a snowman tending to its garden. There is also a 24” repeating block pattern with a 6 snowman gardening scene vignette. This collection includes tossed potted plants, seed packets, gardening tools and snowflakes. The palette of white, red, blue and green tie together this great quilting fabric collection.

Last and certainly not least, we chose to feature two collections from FreeSprit Fabrics, Sea Sisters by Shell Rummel and Storyboard by Seth Apter.

What inspired Sea Sisters by Shell Rummel?

“The ocean – with its changing colors, fluid movement and shoreline surprises – is my constant Muse. This collection honors the many women in my life who love and value the depth of beauty in the coastline as much as I do. We are connected through small moments, conversations and shared admiration. I am often in awe of their talents, especially when my fabrics become part of something more. I hope these organic, modern coastal patterns of waves, tidelines and ocean elements that all originate from my watercolor paintings, speak to my Sea Sisters near and far and inspire and spark their own boundless creativity”

What’s More? Storyboard by Seth Apter.

“Every artist is a storyteller and each creation is a chapter. With each new artwork by a maker, their own unique story unfolds. Storyboard, my first collection with FreeSpirit, tells my story. It reflects my journey as an artist, in all its layers. The collection pulls images from work I have made over time and therefore is a snapshot of my creative evolution. The designs are representative of the core elements of my work, which is typically abstract, textural, grungy and distressed, colorfully muted, deeply layered, and filled with text – used both as a design element and an expression of meaning. Storyboard represents my beliefs that more is more, the littlest detail makes the biggest impact, there is beauty in the imperfections, and you are always only one layer away from magic.”
