Villa Rosa Fast & More Fun Blog Hop March 14-21, 2024

I am proud to be a participant and a sponsor of the Villa Rosa Blog Hop for the second year in a row. My team and I have worked with Villa Rosa Designs to create these mockups (shown below) of some awesome quilts and a table runner made with a special set of Villa Rosa Designs Rose Card Patterns. These quilts feature a few of the newest collections from your favorite Jaftex brands: Studio E FabricsThe Blank Quilting CorporationHenry Glass & Co. and FreeSpirit Fabrics. Check them out below! Plus, you will not want to miss several opportunities to win some INCREDIBLE prizes at the end of this blog post.

First up, from Studio E Fabrics, is Woodland Magic by Ashley Satanosky which is sure to bring a sense of mystique to your next project. Owls hoot as they fly through a star-studded sky. Deer prance through the wooded forest as foxes trot through. Rabbits hop around the leaf and mushroom-covered ground. Bears catch prey from the rushing stream. Not all is quiet in the woods at night.

Next, The Blank Quilting Corporation has Purely Neutral by Satin Moon Designs. This sophisticated collection is perfect for home projects. Mix and match textural prints and florals. Use grey-toned prints from the collection to add a cool tone. To warm up a project, use one from the beige prints. Purely Neutral is sure to be a great addition to your fabric collection. Create sophisticated home projects that elevate your home using Purely Neutral.

Equally important, from Henry Glass & Co., is Blue Prints by Color Principle. There is nothing to be blue about when using this fabric collection. While blue is often used to represent sadness, it also represents tranquility and stability. The variety of prints in this collection are all color coordinated, so they are great to pair together. Use the modern geometric print for a variety of projects or the white floral print for a more sophisticated look. The variety of motifs used in these prints makes the possibilities endless. Get out of your blue mood while using the uplifting Blue Prints group.

What’s More?

We wanted to be extra creative with Villa Rosa’s 31 patterns. We decided to feature two collections that are designed by Leanne Anderson and Kayltyn Kuebler of The Whole Country Caboodle. The panel in this quilt features I Love Sports by Leanne and Kaytlyn, while the arrows in the pattern feature prints from their versatile Starry Basics collection.

For all the sports fanatics and athletes in your life, I Love Sports hits a home run. Swing your way into the world of golf, baseball and tennis. Hit the field for soccer or football. Lace-up your sneakers to hit the court for basketball. Dive into the pool or slide down the slopes on your skis. There is sure to be a sport that gets your adrenaline going in this collection. All-stars understand the hard work it takes to compete in sports. Run off with a few yards of I Love Sports fabrics to score big on your next project.

Starry Basics is an 18-SKU collection basic that features a variety of colorful neutrals in a starry print. It is available in quilt shops now. This cosmic accented pattern is what Leanne is known for.⠀

Last, and certainly not least, from FreeSpirit Fabrics is Dance of Dreams by George Mendoza.

What inspired Dance of Dreams by George Mendoza?

“ When I was young I danced on the dance floor like a super athlete. As a world-class runner, I danced around the track for miles and it was a beautiful sight to behold. Running was a powerful, graceful form of dancing. I am a dancer and I am a dreamer! I have danced and dreamed my whole life away, which has been more fun than anyone should have, but I have done it well! When I went blind at fifteen, I danced through the adversity and darkness until I found the light. I walked, jogged, ran and danced toward that bright light. When you create, you dance around thoughts, images and dreams. My grandmother once told me she saw a quilt in the sky. I believe now she was dancing on the puffy white clouds in heaven! Dance is the hidden language of the soul. Don’t let people discourage you, just dance the bad vibes off! Dance rhymes with romance. Love is why we are here! Go quilters!

Scott, you are a very hands-on executive for your fabric companies. As a collector of fabric for MANY years, I find all your posts to be quite informative as well as entertaining. I look forward to meeting you someday – perhaps as the winner of one of your contests where we get to tour one of your warehouses with you and you casually ask if I’d like to take home a fat quarter bundle (or half yard bundle) of Kaffe or Tula’s new line!! Haha. Please accept this as my entry into your contest for an Eversewn Sparrow 25 sewing machine. Thank you!! Kathy Haer

I am a beginner quilter and having so much fun learning from you and all the creative folks in this industry. I love that Twinkle quilt design, also the creative type treatment in “I Love Sports.” The inspiring story by George Mendoza … Wow! I’m already subscribed to the blog! (I could sure use a new sewing machine-cant hardly believe it but mine is 50 years old LOL!)

Wonderful shop hop and lots of great patterns. I’d love to win a sewing machine to donate to my local library. They are renovating and creating a craft lab. So fabrics and machines are much needed. Many thanks Scott.

I’m parital to the George Mendoza fabrics – way back in 2010 I met him in Las Cruces, NM at an Arts for the Visually Impaired festival where he presented his fiber art & eye sight challenge inspiration to the kids and I was part of a musician group offering concerts to and hands-on immersion for those same kiddos!
    Love the Gypsy pattern!

  • Lizzy Taylor

I am loving seeing how these five patterns can look so different depending upon the choice of fabrics, but they are always successful which must be the chracteristic of a good design. I love the Henry Glass fabrics and can see me diggng into my stash to make at least one of these patterns.
