My Favorite February 2024 Shipping Collections

It’s hard to believe that we are already 1 month into the new year. How are your resolutions going? Mine are going great because I did not make any this year. With that, let’s get into my favorites for the month.

My favorite shipping collection for the Blank Quilting Corporation is Jaded Forest by Anna Bailey. This whimsical woodland collection has soothing colors perfect for decorating a bedroom. I love how easy it is to mix and match the different nature-inspired patterns. Put together pinecones with owls hooting high up in trees above. The block panel is a great place to get started with ideas. Use it for imagery in a quilt or to create scenic pillows.

The assortment of colorful mushrooms in this group makes me interested in foraging mushrooms, but I am a bit worried I would accidentally pluck a poisonous twin instead of a tasty one. I think I’ll stick to admiring them for now on these fabrics. I’m excited to see how you bring the outdoors into your home with this collection. Do you have any ideas?

Garden by Martha Negley is my favorite collection from FreeSpirit Fabrics this month. The bright-colored vegetables in this group look so fresh that I can almost hear the crisp snap of a fresh carrot being bitten into. These unique retro hues bring a fresh and funky touch to a gardening collection. I never thought I would have a desire for a quilt with asparagus, cauliflower, peas, carrots, and more on it, but when the veggies are so enchanting, I must.

Behind the bounty of produce in this garden group are zinnia blossoms in bright pinks and yellows. Bring the garden to your table by creating a table runner or placemats with Garden. After feasting my eyes on the produce in this collection, I’m going to have to head to the farmer’s market to pick up some vegetables for dinner. I am especially looking forward to some artichokes.

Monster-ocity by Shelly Comiskey is my favorite collection shipping from Henry Glass & Co., Inc. this month. You cannot tell from the images below, but this group glows at night. There have been many requests for glow-in-the-dark lines that aren’t for Halloween…here it is! It’s silly and a little frightful when you see eyes glowing in the night. Once you take a closer look though, these creatures are rather goofy. There are two free quilting patterns available on Henry Glass’s website for Monsteri-ocity, Quilt #1 is shown below.

The bright array of colors makes this perfect for decorating a child’s room. They are sure to get a laugh from these goofy monsters as I have. Help them name each of these silly monsters for a fun bonding activity. Let me know what names you come up with for the monsters. I’m naming the purple one Kooky.

My favorite collection for Studio E fabrics this month is Garden Party by Maureen Fiorellini. There are so many small details that catch my eye in this collection, from the dainty ladybugs and bees hiding in the patterns, to the various subtle textures. The color palette has a wonderfully natural feeling to it that is playful, but muted. The free Pinwheel Picnic Quilt pattern on Studio E’s website is the perfect cheerful picnic blanket. Be sure to also check out the Garden Party Block Quilt which uses the block panel in this group.

The daisy stripe in this collection is so fresh that I feel as if I could pluck a flower from it. Remember the strawberry prints that were popping up all over the fashion world? Well, now you can incorporate that look into a quilt. I’m excited to see the strawberry print create strawberry and cream quilts. Perhaps I might have to host a garden luncheon complete with placemats made from this collection.

I hope you enjoyed my favorites shipping out this month. I look forward to seeing the creations you come up with using these fabrics! In the meantime, post a note in the comments about your favorite February shipping collection/s.
