Thank you for an amazing Semester!

After 8 Classes, 8 quizzes, 1 mid-term and 1 final exam, I am very proud to announce the Semester with Scott Class of 2020!! We did it!

Thank you all so much for all your support during this semester. I had a blast teaching you about the fabric industry. It’s always nice to recant my experiences in this wonderful industry and I hope you had an amazing time as well. Hopefully, we’ll see some of you apply to Jaftex for a job in the near future!

Let’s do a quick review of everything we learned in this course.

Part 1:

We began our journey by taking a look into the design process and viewing some amazing fabrics throughout the years. This was a great crash course of what was to come!

Part 2:

In this part, we discussed how to build a fabric collection. Remember the lead, sub-lead, all-overs and coordinate pyramid? Just a little refresher there for you!

Part 3:

Here we took a deep dive into a line and the organization of a look book.

Part 4:

In this section, we discussed Jaftex’s various sales channels both regionally and internationally.

Part 5:

Here we took a look into the warehouse process and saw some amazing footage from inside the warehouse!

Part 6:

We were lucky enough to have Lenny Kuperman join us for this episode as he explained how a design comes to fruition. He also took the time to help us further understand the significance of the mill and the importance of strike-offs.

Part 7:

The amazing Heidi Pridemore joined us and explained everything about free projects; how they are developed and sent to major companies.

Part 8:

In our last part, we discuss the importance of social media and how it impacts a new release.

Please feel free to share this with all your fabric friends!

Once again, I want to thank you so much for an amazing session! None of this would be possible without your support. We have tons of amazing projects in the works so please keep following us on Facebook and Instagram for more updates. Until then, I hope you all have a fabulous holiday and an amazing New Year!

Peace!

With a heavy heart, I shopped the final sales at one of my favorite quilt shops in Jacksonville, FL. The Lady Bug Quilt Shop closed its doors this past weekend. Over 3 trips, I blew my quilting fabric budget to help with her inventory. I got lots of fabulous fabrics, including Studio e, Henry Glass and Blank Quilting. But I will miss her help and her smile. Thanks Rudy. Enjoy your retirement.
