The Studio E Fabrics April 2024 Release

I am excited to provide you with a high-level overview of the Studio E April 2024 release. This release contains 18 collections that ship from September to December of 2024. One thing that stands out in this release is that there are several complimentary lines. In other words, some of the collections have matching 108″ lines. Also, there is one juvenile collection that has a matching minky collection that is spectacular. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Art of Midnight is a 9-SKU digitally printed collection by Chelsea DesignWorks that ships in November. The florals are reminiscent of the beautiful flowers that the Jaftex Companies used to create for the sleepwear trade many moons ago. I recall seeing so many florals like this over the summers when I was an intern at Jaftex. This line also makes me think about one of the first things my dad told me when I came into the business, “Everything looks great on black.” Do you agree?

As I mentioned in the opening, a few of the lines have complimentary collections. The Art of Midnight collection is meant to work with the 108″ Midnight Floral design. This one is also by Chelsea DesignWorks, contains 4 colorways and ships in November. I am going to let the designs speak for themselves below. Which is your favorite?

Next, there is Aussie Oz-Born by Mel Matthews. I love the clever title playing off the famous musician’s name, Ozzy Osbourne. This 14-SKU, Australian animal-themed collection ships in December. You would be surprised how well these foreign-themed collections sell in the US. I believe what people like about them is that they are different than what we are all used to seeing all so often in the US. In the case of this line, it’s also a great opportunity to learn and teach about the various Australian animal species. I learned the names of a few animals I didn’t know existed. The drawings for this collection are great, but I particularly like the cheeky print of the animals in the pockets playing off the idea of marsupials a.k.a. pouched animals. Which is your favorite little bugger? By the way, make sure to check out the 36″ fabric book panel too as soft books have been sooooo popular!

Bella Bunnies is a digitally printed, 10-SKU collection by Victoria Hutto that ships in November. As the title implies, it’s all about beautiful bunnies. For me, I like the distressed-looking light brown backgrounds. They give this easter collection a fresh feel. Make sure to check out all the project ideas as the colors are jumping off the white ground and it is very striking. Lastly, check out the pillow panel below. I love how a lot of different sized pillows are being offered.

Blue Meadow by Sharon Lee contains 11-SKUS and ships in November. This is a lovely blue and white collection with lots of options. In addition, it contains so many great shades of blue for quilters to utilize. You can see the entire collection in the collage below. Do you create a lot of blue and white quilts?

Next up is Bug Bliss, a digitally printed collection by Sue Reeves. This 10-SKU, super-clever, juvenile bug group ships in October. I wonder if the designer Sue Reeves is a quilter because all the designs look like they are made up of little fabric swatches. Check out the amazing 24″ panel below. What kid is not going to love this line and any project created with it?

The Dots & Holes collection by Karen Montgomery, in conjunction with Chelsea DesignWorks, is back by popular demand. The 8-SKU collection ships in October. There are 4 new colorways that come with a lovely master floral and the matching dot and hole pattern. We will also continue to run the colorway from the previous line based on its popularity. The dot and hole concept has proven to be a huge time saver for those wanting to make a Drunkard’s Path quilt among many other creative quilt configurations. Which is your favorite colorway?

Flutter 108″ by Elizabeth Isles is another one of those collections that has a coordinating 44″ cotton line. Let me show you the 3 colorways of this new 108″ and allow the prints to speak for themselves. I love how they have a monotone and muted look. Just what the doctor ordered for a great backing!

Check out how nicely the Hummingbird Messenger digital line by Elizabeth Isles works with her Flutter 108″ line. Both lines ship in December. The master print in the collection is below. You can get the gist that this line is going to be full of beautiful hummingbirds, butterflies and flowers in an array of bright and cheery colors.

In The Thicket by Nancy Archer is a 10-SKU collection that ships in December. This collection combines adorable forest animals like bunnies, foxes, deer, birds and bears with brightly colored flowers. It also has different things that one can find in the forest like berries, bugs and mushrooms. Check out the 24″ panel below and you can admire all the precious animals.

The Instagram Famous digitally printed collection by Kayomi Harai is next. This adorable cat collection ships in December. The line is small, in that it only contains 8 designs, but it packs a big punch. The coolest thing about this line, besides the cats, is the engineered print that you can use to make a cat handbag. The print used for the bag is the one on the top right corner below with the little block prints of the cats. You will certainly be the coolest cat around town with your cat bag by your side. You would be even cooler if your cat was actually inside your cat bag. Say, “Cat” again, I dare you!

Moonlit Dreams by Victoria Hutto is the sweetest juvenile line that I have seen in a long time. It ships in November and contains 15 designs. This line has 6 matching minky prints that ship at the same time. I can envision a child’s entire bedroom being decorated with this fabric line. I especially love the minky panel that can serve as the centerpiece of a child’s bed and make for a standout bedroom ensemble. The kids are sure to fall in love with the new decor and are not going to want to leave their bed again….so be careful.

I am happy to announce the introduction of 9 new Peppered Cottons 45″ colors by Pepper Cory. These new colors of shot cottons ship in September. My favorite new color is 73 Raspberry which is below. Click the link above to see all the new colors. Which is your favorite? By the way, I wanted to remind you that we have many other Peppered Cotton continuing colors that you can see here as well as some 108″ colors that you can see here.

The Point Of View digitally printed collection by Funny Girl ships in October. This 14-SKU collection is probably my favorite collection in the release. I love the 5 different scenics that you can see on the top row of the collage below. The top and the bottom is where the selvedge is located, so these awesome scenics go on and on and on. These scenics are so calming and will likely serve the same purpose when made into a quilt. Add to that the 9 coordinates to embellish the scenic prints and you have the recipe for your next masterpiece. Which is your favorite scenic?

Stay Magical is the latest digital collection from Lori Anzalone. This chameleon-themed collection includes some very colorful and elaborately detailed art. This is a true digital line in that it utilizes so many colors that it has to be digitally printed. The details of the chameleons, orchids and bugs are truly something special. In addition, the three chameleon textures will certainly be great additions to any personal stash. Would you make a chameleon quilt? If so, for whom?

Urban News 118″ is the latest 118″ collection for Studio E by Chelsea DesignWorks. This newspaper print wide backing comes in two colors and ships in October. Newspaper prints have proven to be great sellers whenever we have them. Note that this one is meant to go with the last collection I am going to show you called Urban Vibe. More on that below.

Lastly, Urban Vibe by Chelsea DesignWorks, contains 12-SKUS and ships in October. This line is a combination of black and white prints with some very colorful painterly prints too. You can get the feel of the collection by checking out the block print below. As you can see the prints are very abstract and colorful. Quilters are sure to have a blast with this new line, especially with the coordinating wide back.

There you have it folks! Those are the Studio E newly released April 2024 collections. I hope you found this overview helpful. I look forward to your comments and hope you take the time to answer some of my questions that I have posed throughout the blog.
